22.01.2022 Even the bitumen can’t handle Cape York

21.01.2022 Lover’s Bay, Magnetic Island. Tag someone you’d love to take here! It doesn’t get much more idyllic than this!

20.01.2022 Half-way through an amazing 14-day Cape trip...the highlights so far. Big prawns, Traditional Aboriginal dancing, Old Telegraph Track and more!!

20.01.2022 A feral pig devouring a kangaroo on the side of the road is nothing out of the norm in Cape York! Wait for the commentary :P I have studied the diet & behaviour of feral pigs, as an ecologist, for over a decade. Their diet comprises...everything! The technical term is 'opportunistic omnivores'. This toothy fella opportunistically chows this road kill roo and barely cares that we beeped and yelled at him!

17.01.2022 Feeling a little left out of all the posts...Ruby Ross and I got ready for our first day at the office! We’re in Year 7 at Cockatours now! So proud of these two

11.01.2022 Folks, sometimes truly magical people come into your life. This absolute wonder woman did that and has become an integral part of what makes Cockatours special. She is incredibly talented, energetic, devoted and all-round amazing! I’d be lost on tours without her. We travel down the road together; we laugh, plan, prank and ground each other (and maybe sometimes I undo that) I can’t thank you enough @just_add_agua @lalicuala_art for all you’ve done for me. I appreciate you and I will never take you for granted! Here’s to some new and wild adventures this year! Folks, put it together for Court, the chef of chefs and an amazing woman! Big love!

11.01.2022 Going offline...Fans, friends and family, thank you a million for your support this year! It was a battle of a year and we were stoked we got 2 tours away! Cockatours will be OFFLINE for all of October as I head off to join my brother on a sea kayak trip to the Tip of Australia! Any enquiries can be directed to our email and we'll get back to you after the adventure! Big love and catch ya on the flippity flop! Rossy.

09.01.2022 We are a growing tour company based in Cairns and operating across the north of Australia from Cairns to Broome. We are looking for someone to edit small (2-15 min) videos to assist with content delivery and marketing. We expect this work will be ongoing, with 1-2 videos required/month. If interested please EMAIL your relevant experience, rate and links to TWO short videos (2-5mins). Please email this to the Cockatours email, found on our website.

08.01.2022 Yesterday’s line up at the Jardine River ferry while it was broken down. This was taken at 11am and it got going again at 130pm. Thanks to everyone that helped the fellas and find a solution!

06.01.2022 Dinosaur zoomies what!? Mum had these gorgeous cassowaries playing in their yard at Mission Beach today! So incredible to watch! . @helen.ross.1671 One adult cassowary visiting with three chicks - fantastic experience.

05.01.2022 Keep ya eyes on the prize they reckon. Here’s how this happened...years ago I was spending a large part of the year, for 6 years on this beach doing sea turtle research with Indigenous rangers from Aurukun. This one day we came out to work and one of the three quads we had broke down. So one quad towed the busted quad and I was behind on mine. I was documenting as much as I could and thought I’d take a candid photo with my big camera (look at my hands). As I did, the wheels dug in, twisted the bars and flipped me like an angry cleanskin! Luckily we were only doing about 20km/h! The lads in front of me happened to be taking a burst photo sequence on their phone at the time. As I got up, all I heard was hysterical laughter, as the lads realised they’d caught the moment on camera gotta love days like these!

03.01.2022 Gluten free, cinnamon & sultana damper, with a side of coffee and fiery warmth. Holy. Smokes. I think it’s time we make more dampers on tour!
