24.01.2022 We all enjoy walking or riding along the beautiful Plenty River Trail That's why its great news that the Victorian Government is investing $20.4 million in a new 17km trail that will create the missing link between UniHill in Bundoora and Doreen. Finally, we can make the full journey by foot or bicycle through this beautiful natural part of our region ... I would encourage locals to have their say on the project via engage.vic.gov.au/plenty-river-trail

Work to plant more than 30,000 trees along North East Link and in suburbs nearby has already started and the project is looking for ideas on where to plant next. Take the survey by 31 December 2020 at engage.vic.gov.au/north-east-link

08.01.2022 So many great things have happened at Big Group Hug since my last visit. Thanks to the $29,000 grant from the Victorian Government, BGH has new shelving and equipment, enabling them to reach more families across Melbourne. BGH is also moving to more sustainable packaging thanks to an $11,500 sustainability grant from the Victorian Government... Participating in the Working for Victoria Program, by having 11 workers employed in its warehouse, working on everything from sorting donated goods to communications. For more info on the fantastic work BGH does biggrouphug.org
