24.01.2022 The benefits of online Physio

24.01.2022 Women’s domestic violence services during the pandemic is absolutely essential. We have seen an increase in referrals and this will sadly continue to go up. We ...are open and available to help the women and children who desperately need our help. Our fundraising efforts are more important now than ever because all events have been cancelled. If you would like to help women and children escaping domestic violence and homelessness, please donate to https://www.givenow.com.au/baysidewomensshelter

22.01.2022 New lay out for gym equipment!! Much easier to get around now

20.01.2022 With current restrictions to Massage services and impending restrictions to usual Physiotherapy services, we need to adapt to continue providing care to our community members who will continue to be challenged by injury, aches and pains. We’ve adapted by commencing online consultations. We connect via end to end encrypted media... to work through a clinical assessment, diagnosis, education, advice, exercise interventions and prognosis. You can do so much to help yourself... even while we’re all stuck indoors.

18.01.2022 There's nothing like a walk on the beach. Zac was able to make it to the shore at Malabar Beach after Randwick City Council installed an accessibility walkway.... "Thank you so much for providing accessibility for all especially our little boy Zac who has a spinal cord injury," mum Carmela said. "He had the best day walking independently to the shore at Malabar Beach." Randwick City Council

09.01.2022 Given the high likelihood of us all being locked down in the coming weeks, we’re all going to be cramped up in our apartments, unable to get out and move or exercise as normal. Inactivity tends to bring on aches and pains, especially if combined with the kind of high levels of stress that accompanies an infectious disease pandemic! So how can we help? What can be done to maximise our wellbeing and minimise risk of injury and pain?... There’s lots you can do to look after yourself. And we plan on posting videos over the coming days and weeks containing useful exercises and advice for maintaining your mobility, strength and physical wellbeing whilst we’re all cooped up. If you have a particular problem/injury (eg knee arthritis) that you’d like to see video for, let us know in the comment section! Cheers, Pat

08.01.2022 Time for post storm clean up!!

08.01.2022 Starting tomorrow, we are starting online and telephone consultations!! We have taken the decision to minimise face to face interactions with our patients to help prevent spreading of the COVID19 virus. We want to do our part to take pressure off our stressed hospital and healthcare system. As an example, one of the most common presentations to a hospital ER is lower back pain. We can ease the burden of these presentations to the hospital system by offering low back pain pati...ents with appropriate education, activity modifications and exercise advice. We can provide these services remotely. And it’s not just low back pain. If you have an ache, pain, arthritis or other musculoskeletal complaints, please call your Physio before taking the decision to further burden the hospital system or your local GP. We are experts at determining whether your symptoms can be managed with activity modifications and exercise guidance, or if referral for medical assessment is indicated. For more information call us on 0296659667 or email [email protected]

06.01.2022 I’m seeking a local personal trainer with their own caseload to share my gym space with. I currently use the gym for rehabilitation with my Physio patients but the space works well for 1:1 or small group personal training. If you’re interested give me shout. Cheers, Pat- www.coogeebay.physio. 0418881439

01.01.2022 *content warning* It really says something about how biased the system is against women when an organisation set up to protect us (and everyone else) wants to ...keep an ‘open mind’ over whether a woman was responsible for pushing a man so far that he was left with no other choice but to kill four people. In what world can this event be justified? The only system that failed is the one that should have protected Hannah and her kids. There is no justification for his actions. #domesticviolence
