23.01.2022 We have been back for a week and are absouletly overwhelmed by the love and support. Honestly we have the best customers. Especially our regulars we love you all so so much! We felt terrible having to turn away customers or make them wait at the door because of the Covid restrictions and 10 diner limit, but it is finally over. From tommorrow we can have 50 diners at our premises as we have 200 sqm's of space and can adhere to the 4sqm per person ratio. We believe you will... continue to support us through this new phase. 17.01.2022 Our restaurant is remaining open during this uncertain time to service the community we love so much. As many of our customers know we have a 5 star scores on doors rating. Please be reassured we have additional measures on top of our already strict food safety programs in place to keep both our customers and staff safe. We have implemented a sanitising routine which we use after each customer. We have strict hand washing and cleaning protocols in place and we are monitorin...g our staff daily. We are also lucky enough to have the space to comply with the governments suggested social distancing policy. We understand that some people of this beautiful community may not be feeling well and may prefer to stay home. 10.01.2022 WE ARE HIBERNATING It was a month ago to the day that the government placed it's trading restrictions on the hospitality industry. We traded take away only for 4 weeks and can we say it was the hardest time of our professional lives. Just like most other cafes and restaurants we lost around 80% of business. We modified our menu in order to minimise waste and costs. We tried 'reinventing ' ourselves like most businesses are doing right now. We extended our ubereats trading ...hours and even offered our breakfast menu for delivery but paying over 35% fees to Uber on 20% of regular restaurant revenue just doesn't cut it. So we are joining many of our other friends in this industry and hibernating. We want to thank our wonderful customers that continued to support us during this past month. Especially the amazing people that refused to order through Ubereats and made the effort to drive by and pick up their orders. We thank the beautiful humans that were tipping us through the Ubereats app. That type of gesture just made our hearts warm. We thank ALL of our customers that just can't wait to come back to the good old days and we too hope that it will be sooner than later. These restrictions have proved one thing to us; it's not just about eating and food. It's about the atmosphere, the friends and company you are with. Its about the service, human interaction and the experience. We will be back the day the restrictions are lifted. Our restaurant will once again be full of chaos and laughter. 05.01.2022 Prior to Covid 19, we were hosting lunch for the Turkish Gourmet Food Safari's on a monthly basis. Needless to say they were put on hold due the restrictions on group bookings for a number of months. Celebrity chef @maeveomeara who is also the owner of the Gourmet Food Safari's decided to re start the tours with breakfast and what a great occasion it turned out to be. 05.01.2022 We have been absent for over a month and can't wait to reopen tommorrow for Eid. Normally Eid breakfasts are our busiest days of the year. However we have to do things a little differently this year due to the Covid 19 restrictions. We are only allowed 10 diners to eat in at any one time. So we have decided not to take bookings as any delays or no shows would not only effect our business but wouldn't be fair to our customers waiting for a table. 01.01.2022 Just like every other cafe and restaurant in Australia we will put up our chairs at 12 noon today. The chairs that sat families, friends and colleagues. The chairs that were counted and spaced out appropriately for breakfasts, dinners, birthdays, engagements and even weddings. So many beautiful memories were created at our restaurant. We know most of our customers by name and love seeing them each and every time they visit. Life as we know it has changed for all of us, not o...nly in Australia but the world. We are living in unprecedented times and we will adapt, each and everyone of us have to. We at Cook & Co don't know what tommorrow holds and we will be remodelling our business to adapt to theses times. However, what we do know is those chairs that go up today will come back down. Our restaurant will be full of chatter, laughter and children running around (and us telling them to sit down or the chef will come out with a knife ) again.
