24.01.2022 Came across the idea of a free little pantry & after taking the Top End Local Food Challenge and thinking more about where our food comes from and where it goes, plus connecting with community, we think these would be perfect in Darwin! With Australian homes wasting 1 in every 5 shopping bags of food, these pantries have the power to decrease waste, share unwanted food, share extra home grown produce, and build connection in neighbourhoods. https://hellolunchlady.com.au/hope-sch/little-free-pantry/
24.01.2022 Incase you missed #shd2020 on Sunday, you can still watch all the #virtualtours on the @sustainablehouseday website, and ask the homeowners questions in the comments section. Here’s Andrew from the #WavertreeHouse talking about his #louvres. We’re opening this house in person! Come out for a very #educational and #inspiring morning as Andrew and Helen give an in-depth tour of their #passivedesign #awardwinning home. https://www.coolmob.org/open_house_wavertree... #coolmob #ecnt #darwin #ntaustralia #passivecooling #tropicalarchitecture #sustainabledesign #buildforclimate #darwinriver

20.01.2022 The NT and Australia have been hit hard with the economic ramifications of COVID-19. But this is an opportunity to build an economic recovery that creates jobs and futures in clean, renewable energy not gas! This Friday, join other concerned Territorians at Michael Gunner's office in Parap and call on the NT Government to stop using public funds to support the gas industry. #FundOurFutureNotGas

16.01.2022 Thanks to Andrew and Helen for opening their home this morning out in Darwin River. All visitors were truly inspired by the #passivedesign principles used in the home. We stood inside at 10am for roughly an hour without fans or AC, comfortable in the breeze. #coolmob #ecnt #darwin #ntaustralia #energyefficiency #solarpv #designforclimate #shd2020
15.01.2022 A big congratulations to GULP NT on taking out the award last night at the 2020 Territory NRM conference for the Resilient and Sustainable Enterprise Award!! GULP NT were nominated for the unique roll they plan in the Top End in bringing the community together to celebrate story and local tropical foods, whilst encouraging and educating to grow and eat local! COOLmob had a fantastic year collaborating with GULP NT for the #topendlocalfoodchallenge, and we’d like to thank all those who got involved, the volunteers and organisations who support GULP NT. It’s a grassroots group, and without everyone’s input it wouldn’t be here #coolmob #ecnt #gulpnt #tnrm2020 #localfood #darwin #ntaustralia

13.01.2022 Last night we held a debate with the @nationaltrustnt on the future of tropical architecture in the Top End... Long Live the Louvres? What an inspiring event hearing from the panel Sandra Howlin, Simon Scally, David Ritchie, Nick Kirlew and Michael Wells. Seems like architects, the Planning Commissioner, building and energy efficiency design experts and holistic planning advocates all agree that increased energy efficiency in our homes and buildings is paramount to achieving ...liveability in our climate. So yes, bring the louvres back into fashion but make them fully sealable to allow for breeze capture, cross ventilation but also to allow for a room to be air conditioned on hotter days, especially as we will see more days over 35 degrees as the years go on. #coolmob #ecnt #nationaltrustnt #darwinevents #abcdarwin #burnetthouse #audithouse #ntdarwin #darwin #energyefficiency #passivedesign #tropicalarchitecture
