13.01.2022 Last week, Claire, Frida and I were lucky enough to sail a cat around the Whitsundays with some of our nearest and dearest. To be removed from your day to stop and isolated on a boat with good company etched those memories deeper than usual. 09.01.2022 These purpose built laundry shipping containers that @remotelaundries place in remote communities like this one in Barunga (350kms South of Darwin) do more than just wash clothes.... High water temps and specific laundry liquids help reduce the scabies that living in their bedding. Scabies causes extreme itch and scratching then leads to skin breakages and golden staph. ... It’s a human right that most of us don’t even think about but for this community it is a genuine life saver. 06.01.2022 As @mica_schettini mentioned in my previous post, this shoot was open ended, full body expression in outfits and makeup that made the model feel like she was out of her usual societal expectations of who Mica is. This first image is kind of signature shot for where I like how it feels otherworldly, questioning what is real and what isn’t, challenging the viewer transcend to another realm. The long sequence in this collection was shot on a long lens, low to the ground, ...easily 20metres from the subject, to capture all the colours on native foliage colours you see through the image foreground, giving a voyeuristic feel here, an unwitnessed event of Mica running from societal restraints. Shoots and briefs like this help remind me to be myself, not to follow trends or expectation of what is popular or deemed the norm.
