25.01.2022 Tune in to see what decisions are being made tonight in your community!

19.01.2022 HAWKESBURY HEADSPACE As a mother to three school-aged children, I am acutely aware that what might happen in the playground, online or elsewhere can often have a very serious and invisible effect on our children’s mental health. It keeps me up at night. ... It is therefore vitally important that local young people have access to the right support. That is why I am very pleased to report that last night, Hawkesbury City Council passed my motion to formally seek advice from the federal Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network (Wentworth Healthcare) about securing funding for a headspace in the Hawkesbury. This motion shows that it is no longer time to just keep ‘talking’ about it. It is time for action. I will be writing to the Minister for Health, Greg Hunt MP, and the Liberal Senator for Western Sydney, Marise Payne, to advise them of this motion. Proudly, my 2019 election commitment for a headspace in the Blue Mountains has been delivered and is up and running, thanks to the Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Government. And now, I will work with Council, all levels of government, and most importantly, local young people...to deliver for the Hawkesbury. 12.01.2022 What a gorgeous morning it has been in Kurrajong, spending time with the wonderful ladies at Country Women's Association - Kurrajong Branch. They had asked for my help with a Council issue and things are looking good towards resolving it, which they are all totally thrilled about! We also discussed a range of issues, including the declining interest in people joining up to volunteer organisations, which I see happening in the many groups I am part of. We also highlighted ju...st how much the CWA gives back to other local groups like the school and RFS and how their contribution to our communities over all these decades has been positively immeasurable. Thank you for a top morning ladies!

11.01.2022 It’s going to be a one tomorrow, so keep up to date with these local places to stay !

10.01.2022 WE RFS What a spectacular morning to host a thank you ceremony for many of our local RFS heores at the Council Chambers. As we head into fire season again, it is important to remember and acknowledge the time, dedication and effort that all RFS volunteers spend in keeping us safe, especially after the events of last summer. ... Pictured with me here is Ken Pullen, a Hawkesbury Group Captain, who accepted this plaque on behalf of Kurrajong Rural Fire Brigade. As you can see, Ken is holding a frame full of little thank you notes, written by local school kids, which will be proudly hung on the wall at the station. Personally, I start my first shift on Saturday as part of the Hawkesbury Communications Rural Fire Brigade. I am pretty keen to learn and absorb as much as I can off all these amazing people. 08.01.2022 Check out this amazing story about an amazing man and his service to cricket in the Hawkesbury, especially Freemans Reach! I put a motion up at the last Council meeting to ask staff to investigate the process to name the two ovals at The Breakaway ‘The George Greentree Oval’ and ‘The Charlie Greentree Oval’ (after his late father). It received unanimous backing. A huge thanks goes to David, Adrian and Mitchell, who came onto our Council zoom meeting to support the idea and ...speak so highly of George. Read the motion on page 55 here: https://www.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au//1611/20200908Agenda.pdf When the report comes back to Council, I will let you know what our permanent decision will be!
