24.01.2022 There is meant to be a Bush in the free wheeling hub. And youre meant to keep it lubricated. That is why it is in the owners manual for wheel bearing repacking every water crossing. This cost; a new calliper, pair of discs and wheel bearings and a new spindle and wheel hub. Stick to the maintenance. Its cheaper than the repair.

24.01.2022 Bit late after finke but discovered these photos. Spitwater Cleaning & Heating Equipment have given some sponsorship to Harry to come 5th in class and 49th overall. Well done Harry and good luck at your next event.

21.01.2022 Believe it or not Stone hammering can indicate vehicle speed almost the nearest 10km/h. The closer to the front wheels the faster it has been. Ive seen middle brackets on side steps been hammered a bit. But drilled through is a new one. Must have spent all its life flat out on dirt. As you could imagine we produced list of issues longer than your arm. Just remember you wont get paid if you dont make it. Slow down and enjoy the scenery. Safe driving everyone.

21.01.2022 Compression gasses coming from the cooling system past the radiator cap. Cooling system not quite up to scratch this summer? Get it fixed. Procrastinating and hoping you wont get it hot may cost you this issue. Maintenance is cheaper than the repair

20.01.2022 Hello everybody. We have recently had our 'locals search' site up and running and it would be great if you can post a review of your experience with us. In the... age of technology It helps any of our new customers to decide if they want to use us. Your honest appraisals are encouraged and appreciated. Looking forward to all the 5 stars

20.01.2022 Sad one for one of our customers doing a bit of his own work. Good reason why we use trays and persist on finding that dropped nut. This has resulted in a peppered engine as you can imagine.

19.01.2022 Congratulations Josh for winning apprentice of the year for 3rd and 4th year categories. Knew you had it in you.

17.01.2022 A photo of both sides of a clutch plate and pressure plate out of a truck that has failed. It is supposed to have the fibrous material you see in picture one. But that smear up top is that material which has disintegrated into the bell housing. Dont see this too often.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Country Diesel's first year apprentices, John and Johno on winning the 'Flying Spanners' Challenge back in September. This was held at the 'R...ed Centre NATS' in Alice Springs. Their objective was to disassemble and reassemble a 4 cylinder petrol motor and make sure it fires, in the quickest time possible. They did it in lightening speed and in the finals won by a matter of seconds. Now we have a good looking trophy for their efforts in the office and they get flights and accomodation paid to the 'Summer NATS' in January 2017. - well done boys! #redcentrenats

16.01.2022 Hello all, just sharing a document that has been sent out to anyone in our email list. In case you are wondering what we are doing to stop the spread of Covid-19. Stay healthy everyone, and as we are doing very regularly, wash your hands.

15.01.2022 Two vehicles have been in our shed with significantly different conditions. They prove what routine services can do for your motor. Everyone needs to open their service book and look for the extreme conditions clause and service schedule, youll see that you should be having services in half the so-called recommended period. Both of these motors have around 200,000kms on them. The 1VD motor will just keep going. Not sure I could say the same about the poor 1KD ... Prevention is always better than the repair!

14.01.2022 There has been arguments on putting second filters on vehicles floating around social media. For some reason there is an idea that you put a 2micron filter after the genuine filter because the genuine filter doesnt do its job. You dont need any more evidence than below. The Toyota filter has done all the work. Not a spec on the after market filter on the right. The jar is holding the fuel from both filter housings. Which has only marginal heavy specs.

12.01.2022 Little John getting some boots whilst big brother gets some surgery. (Notice half the tractor is not in picture or attached)

12.01.2022 After being told by others he needed a new auto trans for $11000. This tourist came in with all the fuel supply issue symptoms. Very easy repair and much cheaper to do his fuel filter. Dont forget to get your fuel filter/s replaced regularly. Will save you grief whilst on holidays.

07.01.2022 Green is around what its supposed to look like. The arrow points to the damage. This is a truck gearbox. But the fault is the same. See a leak underneath? Get it checked out. This is a result of oil loss causing the teeth to strip completely. No teeth. No drive

07.01.2022 Check out this deal Spitwater are doing.

04.01.2022 The following has been in place for 2 weeks. To Our Valued Customers, With the recent COVID-19 outbreak world-wide, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the contingency measures we at Country Diesel Maintenance have taken. We are aware and have already noticed a change in the economic climate and understand that our customers also need to take financial measures to keep themselves operating. In addition, we are also aware of hygiene issues for both our cust...omers and our employees. As a result of the sudden change in the economic climate, we have chosen to follow advice and reduce risk to our staff and clients to the best of our ability. We will be doing this in the following ways: Access to the workshop will be restricted to staff only until further notice. Any client with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 will need to allow their vehicle to stay in our yard for up to 48 hours in direct sunlight prior to any work or contact with the vehicle. Prior to and after vehicle maintenance, we will undertake a decontamination procedure using a basic and non-staining disinfectant spray to clean common surfaces, and clean the vehicles exterior with hot water and soap (please note our decontamination process will involve washable and reusable cloth, or paper towel if available, preferred over disposable wipes which in the long run, will undo any environmental improvements we have made in recent years). How we will be continuing to serve our customers: By doing the above we aim to consistently provide our high standard and service to our clients, while trying to avoid any possible shut down period. We will be following advice for decontamination procedures and follow sustainable practices suitable for our environment and needs, that will not cause any harm to interior/exterior components. By cleaning the vehicle, we can also help you the client reduce cross contamination between different drivers, or recontamination between families. We will provide storage for vehicles before and for a period after maintenance as we always have, so if you are in isolation, or company lock down, we will do catch up maintenance on your vehicles. Being in our yard will also allow for the vehicles to decontaminate in the heat. Country Diesel Maintenance have always valued our relationships with customers and suppliers. In this difficult time, we want to work with you and aim to help in any way we can. We are all directly affected by this virus and the resulting economic situation, and now is the time for all of us to pull together as a community and help each other. So please reach out to us for anything you may need, and we will do what we can. Best wishes for this troubling time. Kind Regards, Country Diesel Maintenance Pty Ltd

03.01.2022 Congratulations Josh.

03.01.2022 Someone has had a little bit too much fun off road. The radiator resembled cousin IT. And The swivel housings had more sand than grease. And a wheel cylinder can only do so much travel.

02.01.2022 Havent seen this level of water contamination in a while. Tanks out, new filters, fresh fuel and start again. Amazing it ran happily after this.

02.01.2022 And the winner for best pollen filter blockage goes to..!

02.01.2022 Country Diesel are moving with the times, we now offer Afterpay as a payment option.

02.01.2022 With all this excellent rain around central Australia, it introduces a problem for most 4x4's and machinery: contaminated drivelines and wheel bearings lead to ...failures, mud can wear your brakes within only a few hundred klms. It is best to follow your manufacturers recommended maintenance and have all your drivetrain closely checked after crossing water or driving through heavy mud. Not only do drivetrains suffer but those fun times splashing in mud and bashing through the long grasses can also block radiators and condensers leading to overheating engines. We have been doing a lot of cleaning at CDM to keep our customers on the road. Lucky we are not strangers to grease and oils. Some photos for you.

01.01.2022 Uh oh. This cant be good.

01.01.2022 New year, new problems. May give a bit of a clutch shudder....

01.01.2022 Thats not a stick!
