10.01.2022 No matter what allied health service you use (physio, speech pathology, OT, exercise physiology or dietetics), these 5 simple things can speed up your recovery: 1. Try to make all appointments. Life happens - we get it! But seeing your therapist regularly avoids a longer recovery time. 2. Dont stop when you start to notice some relief. You may feel better but are at risk of re-injury. We dont want to see you once you are better - we wont milk it! ... 3. Be honest with us! We wont judge you if you arent feeling better or forgot your exercises - we will just make suggestions that work better for your lifestyle. Telling us what we want to hear doesnt help us treat you. 4. Talk to us about supporting treatments and lifestyle support. Making small tweaks to your lifestyle and using other services (like dietetics or exercise programs) might make a big difference 5. Tell us if prescribed exercises are unrealistic or if you need help remembering. The homework we give you is often a major part of your recovery. Our clinicians have a tonne of great ideas to help you remember or make exercises easier to fit into your day.

05.01.2022 Are you getting enough exercise? The Australian Physical Activity and Sedentary behaviour guidelines recommend we be active on most, preferably all, days every week. To achieve the guidelines we should aim to accumulate 150 to 300 minutes (2 to 5 hours) of moderate intensity physical activity or 75 to 150 minutes (1 to 2 hours) of vigorous intensity physical activity, or an equivalent combination of both moderate and vigorous activities, each week.

03.01.2022 It is COPD awareness month! Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, also easy said as COPD, is a group of progressive lung diseases. The most common are emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Many people with COPD have both of these conditions. Unfortunately, while there’s no cure for COPD, early treatment can help ease symptoms, lower the chance of complications, and generally improve quality of life. Exercise is generally the best form of treatment, in combination with medicatio...ns and supplemental oxygen therapy, depending on the stage of the disease. COPD is currently the third leading cause of death globally with the biggest risk factors, but not limited too, for COPD is exposure to tobacco smoke If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with any respiratory problems issues, or simply experience shortness of breath during day to day activities, you should consider taking our Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) classes here at Entirely Health Our COPD classes will teach you breathing techniques, management strategies whilst improving your functional capacity through exercise. After having an initial assessment, an exercise physiologist will develop your individualised program that you will follow each week. The benefits gained from these classes can be life-changing, with people improving their exercise tolerance and quality of life. If getting out of breath quickly is bringing you down or you are too afraid to walk too far due to fatigue, come and join our classes and start feeling better. No referrals are needed, however bookings are essential, so be sure to call reception on 49222 722 You may be entitled to a health fund rebate depending upon your fund. Don’t wait any longer. The lung foundation have put together a free resource pack to help manage your condition today in the comfort of your own home https://lungfoundation.com.au/get-involv//world-copd-day/. 03.01.2022 Here at Entirely Health, we love our kiddies Just how adults are different from one another, children have their own bubbly personalities and quirks too. In saying this, there are some pretty clear milestones that experts have researched in which children should be able to meet. These milestones can be broken into a few different categories: - movement... - visual and hearing - smell and touch - developmental health We believe that working together creates the best opportunity to provide a better outcome for our patients, no matter their age. Our multidisciplinary team approach may look something like this: Exercise physiologists and physiotherapist will assist in the gross motor or movement pattern development. Speech pathology can manage any language deficits or communication delay. Occupational therapy will aim to manage emotions, executive functioning and sensory processing. Dietetics can assist with ensuring the nutritional needs are met for your child. There is no harm in asking for advice or being extra vigilant about the development of your growing child. Early intervention can provide a greater outcome for you and your child If you have any questions or believe your child may benefit from any of our services, do not hesitate to contact us on 4922 2722 or directly through our Facebook. And yes! we are NDIS service providers too, which means getting help for your child is a little easier
