13.01.2022 Thank goodness for our pets when our interactions with people need to be so limited! If you are self isolating because you or anybody in your household would be at high risk if they contract covid-19 and you're uncomfortable going out to walk your dog, we at Critters would like to offer you half price dog walks until we as a community are clear of this pandemic, to help our clients (and their pets) get through this. This comes to $12.50 for a 20min walk, plus $2.50 per addit...ional 10 minutes. This applies to both new and existing clients. We may also be able to offer discounts to healthcare workers and anybody experiencing financial hardship, so contact your local pet sitter to discuss your individual circumstances. We will, of course, take every measure to reduce the risk of disease transmission to and from all our clients, and are happy to discuss these measures with you. We'll be observing very strict hand hygiene before entering your property or touching your pets, and can use our own leads to avoid the need to touch yours. Depending on your home setup, we can pick your dog up at the gate or otherwise find ways to keep our distance from you, and of course we will not be coming by if we experience any symptoms (we can try to arrange another of the Critters Pet Care team to walk your dogs in such a situation). Wherever possible, we'll be conducting initial consultations remotely, either via the phone or video calls. We'll also avoid contact between your dog and members of the public: while dogs can't be vectors for coronavirus, it's possible they can be a surface on which the virus might sit, if the public are allowed to pat them. If you have any symptoms of respiratory illness or fever, or suspect you may have been exposed to somebody with covid-19, please inform us before we visit your home so we can take appropriate measures to reduce risk to ourselves.

04.01.2022 I feel extremely blessed to have played a small part in improving this little angels life. Love and respect to her foster mum Alison and WA Pet Project for taking such amazing care of her in her last few months. I am still in awe of how much her quality of life improved. Rip Ruby, your gorgeous little personality will be sorely missed. - Lou

03.01.2022 This is Eddie. He is lucky enough to live alongside a huge park where he goes walking. On Wednesday I put his lead on and headed in that direction, like normal. But Eddie wasn't having a bar of it: he put the brakes on hard. I thought perhaps he didn't want to go out in wet weather, but then he started heading in the other direction. So I said "OK Eddie, if you want to go this way we can go this way". Eddie was very specific about where we were going: we even had to cross st...reets at the correct angles. If I stepped a foot out of line he'd sit down and give me those eyes. We approached a school and I thought "ahh, this must be Eddie's family's school drop off route." But we continued on past. Eventually, after about 15min of walking, Eddie went to turn down a private driveway. Uh oh! I had to have a gentle conversation explaining that the residents of the house weren't expecting him and, though I suspect they would know him well, it would be rude to pop in unnnounced, and we had best go home. And then we did. After speaking to Eddie's owner, it turns out Eddie was trying to visit some of their family, who he hasn't visited in a very long time. Dogs are amazing! - Megan

01.01.2022 Today Ed knew what he wanted. As soon as we left the yard, he threw himself onto the lawn and began rolling around before refusing to move until tummy rubs and pats a plenty were given. Eventually he was satisfied and begrudgingly continued going for his walk. Halfway around the park he threw himself on the floor again and demanded more cuddles before he would begin to head home.. Such a loving and stubborn old man!
