24.01.2022 Help the Band educate Council about what it takes to keep community bands and music thriving in our local community for everyone to enjoy. Our current Bandroom of over 45 years is Keystone Hall. As shown in the Croydon Community Precinct master plan, this hall is to be demolished! We need council to fully understand the needs of our Band, so as they might incorporate a practical rehearsal space into their plans.... Please take a minute to complete the council survey below, before 15th December! HERE ARE SOME OF OUR BASIC NEEDS: large, flat, clear indoor space; high ceiling; large secure storage room; extra wide door frames; unlimited access to the storage area; office space for photocopier & admin tasks; disabled access; bright lighting; storage for 60 chairs; kitchen; toilets; parking for 60 members; access for trailer and moving of heavy equipment in and out of the building. https://yoursay.maroondah.vic.gov.au/croydon-community-prec

23.01.2022 A fond farewell: It is with great sadness that we farewell a beloved life-long member of Croydon Citizens' Bands, Phil Baker. As President for 10 years and a st...rong driver for the Band in the 60's and 70's, Phil was a quiet man, yet his contributions and dedication were truly significant. He was a friend and mentor to many who have since gone on to also dedicate their lives to Croydon Bands and the wider music community. Phil's family have also been involved with the Bands through many years. Often in the background and in his well known humble and quiet manner, Phil continued to support our Bands throughout his life. Phil will be greatly missed, and his contributions will be always appreciated. We extend our sincere condolences to the entire Baker family at this sad time, and thank them for sharing Phil with us.

10.01.2022 We regret to announce that due to COVID-19, Croydon Wind Symphony's Concert Classics event scheduled for 20/06/2020 has been cancelled. We were hoping to avoid cancellation in favour of rescheduling for a later date but due to the current uncertainty of the global pandemic, it is unknown when we will be able to resume rehearsals or stage this type of event. A full refund is being processed for our friends that have already purchased tickets (excluding the non-refundable 50c ...per ticket booking fee imposed by trybooking.) We would like to thank you for your ongoing support of Croydon Wind Symphony and Croydon Citizen's Bands and look forward to seeing you when it is safe for everyone to do so.
