19.01.2022 WA Young Voices are delighted to announce that in 2020 we are collaborating with WA Opera on two exciting productions. In February, WAYV choristers will perform the Children's Chorus in City of Perth Opera in the Park Hansel & Gretel . In October, they will be performing in the childrens opera The Nightingale at His Majesty's Theatre as part of the AWESOME festival. What an exciting time to be a part of this fantastic choir. 17.01.2022 Only hours left before our Voice Dance concert commences! For those attending the concert, here are some tips and reminders: 1. Please make sure to download the SafeWA app so we can keep WA safe while enjoying a beautiful concert!... 2. BYO picnic, chairs and umbrellas (there’s a 40% chance of rain). There will be an ice-cream and coffee van for you to enjoy. 3. Those who have bigger chairs, please set yourselves up around the outside of the audience area. We are inviting 8 - 18 year olds of all voice types to Audition for a place in one of our three choirs: * Tunley - A Treble choir for beginner and intermediate singers aged 8-16 * Grandage - A Treble choir for advanced singers aged 12-18... * Minchin - An exciting new group for Tenors, Basses and changing voices aged 10-18 At WAYV, our main focus is choral performance, music education and vocal tuition. It is our hope to foster in our choristers a lifelong love of music and singing, providing them with a challenging and positive music making environment. Sessions are held every Saturday during term time at Aquinas College. A weekly workshop is scheduled for 1-2pm to study a broad range of music related topics. This is then followed by rehearsals from 2-4pm. We have guest presenters throughout the year such as Kaboom Percussion and The Baden Street Singers, and our patrons Sara Macliver and Suzie Mathers visit us for workshops and masterclasses. 10.01.2022 For the first time ever, West Australian Young Voices will be joining forces with the Birralee Singers! Biralee are in Perth on Tour and will be joining WAYV for an afternoon of music-making, culminating in a showcase concert at 7pm at the All Saints Floreat Uniting Church. Entry is by gold coin donation, so come along and enjoy the stunning sound of massed children's voices.

06.01.2022 Meet our musicians. We are ecstatic to be working with three amazing musicians for our Voice Dance concert on Sunday, Adrian Soares, Carissa Soares, and Jet Kye Chong. Our piano accompanist, Adrian has performed with WASO as a casual musician and soloist, and is one of West Australian Opera’s Wesfarmers Arts Young Artists!... Our percussionists, Carissa and Jet, are two very accomplished WA young musicians. Carissa is a member of the WA Youth Orchestra and teaches percussion in some of Perth’s leading schools in music. Jet was the principal percussionist for the Australian Youth Orchestra’s 2019 international tour, and teaches and performs with Taiko on! We look forward to making some beautiful music with these talented young musicians this Sunday!
