25.01.2022 Good day everyone and happy new year. Official training begins on Wednesday 13th January 2021 in the evening. We will advise of the starting time on Monday so keep an eye for updates on our Facebook page. For this Saturday 9th January, the Club will have an outdoor Bo training session. There will be spares available. ... Those of you interested in joining, please gather at the under cover area of the Stadium at 8am (it is the undercover area looking into the indoor basketball courts) Dress code: t-shirt, shorts / track pants, shoes only. No uniform. Any queries please do not hesitate to message us on Facebook.

24.01.2022 Hi all, Just a reminder; Curtin Stadium reopens this Thursday 11th June. ... Tentatively, the Club will resume training at the Curtin Stadium Dome this Saturday. We are currently awaiting feedback from Curtin Stadium regarding its operating hours for Saturday. We will post an update as soon as we know more, so check our Facebook page in the next couple of days. Next week Wednesday 17 June, training will resume at 6.45pm at the Dome.

18.01.2022 Perth Shorinji Kempo run a small first aid session yesterday at the end of training. It is important for all students to understand the basics of first aid so they can protect themselves their family and other students. Please go and do a first aid course with your nearest provider.

We have done this every year as a community service, however this year is the first time we are creating it as an event.... The program last for 1 month. Wednesdays: 6.50pm to 8.50pm Saturdays: 8am to 10am If you would like to try us out, but don't know what to wear, here are some guides: - short sleeve or long sleeve t-shirt (no singlets, no tank tops) - workout shorts or workout pants - please ensure to remove all jewelry/piercings before training to avoid injuries to yourself and to others. - no shoes or socks required as you will be training bare foot If you are wanting to learn a traditional martial, do come and try us out. No obligation to join. Please ensure follow Curtin University's Covid19 guidelines.

Also as a community service, the Shorinji Kempo Club will be running a Women's Self Defence program. The program runs for 1 month and costs $30 ($20 will be donated to a charitable organization) plus, participation in the program grants you 1 month free membership training in the Shorinji Kempo Club. 10.01.2022 Hello all, As of 6pm this evening WA will be in lock down until Friday 5th February 6pm. Needless to say there will be no training this Wednesday 3rd of February.... Apart from the unforeseen circumstance, there will be no training on the following dates due to Curtin University summer graduation ceremonies: - Saturday 6th February (refer notes below) - Wednesday 10 February - Saturday 13 February (refer notes below) - Wednesday 17 February Note: Tentatively, we will have unofficial training sessions on Saturday 6th and 13th February, but subject to State Government's conditions. We will post updates on our Facebook page as things develop. Until then, remain calm and stay safe. If you were in any of the locations identified by the authorities please get tested according to the State Government's guidelines.

09.01.2022 Hello everyone! Hopefully you've all been keeping well. With WA easing its restrictions to Phase 3 tomorrow, 6th June 2020, the Club will be training unofficially tomorrow morning at 8am. Curtin Stadium isn't open just yet so we will be training outside. We will be gathering at the oval next to the Stadium carpark - see photo below. (Look for group of people wielding long sticks) ... We will be practicing with the Bo (long staff) There will be some spares available. See you all tomorrow.

As we are in Day 3 of the WA's Covid19 lock down, there is a possibility that the State Government may extend its restrictions. ... In summary, there will be no training this week and we will post updates regarding next week. As a reminder from our previous post, there will be no training for the following dates: - Wednesday 10 February - Saturday 13 February* - Wednesday 17 February *Tentatively the Club may organize an activity for Saturday 13th February. 02.01.2022 *Update as of 24th June 2020 - Covid-19 update In order to adhere to social distancing rules, the training time for Wednesday has been pushed back to 7pm for time being. Wednesdays 7.00pm-9pm* ... Saturdays at 8am-10am As restrictions have eased and Curtin Stadium has officially reopened, there are some procedures to follow. All students are to maintain social distancing within the premises of Curtin Stadium. The Shorinji Kempo Club will have in place its safety action plan posted on the door, so please ensure to read the guidelines before entering. Once entering the Dome, all students are to maintain social distance from each other. Close contact participating is only permitted when actively training. When not in active participation, all students are to ensure social distancing. If you are unwell or experiencing flu like symptoms, please stay at home until you have fully recovered. We will post updates as the situation changes over time, so do check our Facebook page for updates from time to time. 01.01.2022 Hello all and hope you're all well rested. Another year has come to an end, one that can't come soon enough. 2020 has been THE worst and most challenging year. From loved ones being stranded overseas, to lockdowns within countries...let us hope that 2021 will fare better. We've had people come and go, and some making the long and arduous journey back again amidst this unprecedented times. ... To those who have moved to other states, may you be well and happy and continue training in whatever capacity possible. To those who have returned, welcome back and may you also be well and happy. We hope to see you at training. To those of you who are taking a break for personal reasons, please know that the doors are always open, and we hope to see you again at training. To those of you experiencing separation from loved ones, stay strong for this will pass. Patience and perseverance is key. We are fortunate that our technology at present allows us to connect with out love ones visually. Had this pandemic occur 20 years ago, things would have been a lot more bleak. Regardless, now more than ever, it is important to stay connected and help each other. Reach out and don't be afraid to ask for help. To those of you who recently underwent your grading and passed. Congratulations and may you excel evermore in your journey ahead. There is much more to learn so don't slack in your training. ;) To our new members, welcome and may you always maintain your beginner's feeling of excitement and strive to exceed beyond your limits.
