25.01.2022 The creek is well and truly flowing after recent rain!

24.01.2022 A local family came down to the orchard within the Campground . A great learning experience for the children !

24.01.2022 Just an update on the campground which is closed during this Virus shutdown . We have been working very hard to continually improve the campground . As you can see from the photos we have been blessed by recent rainfall which has turned the bush and campground into a healthy playground. There are: @ many shady mowed lawn areas @ Coco creek is crystal clear and running at present... @ numerous swimming holes @ abundant dry timber for campers @ rejuvenate citrus trees in orchard , new plantings scheduled for September 2020. @ new veggie garden construction commencing shortly @ new chook pen constructed shortly . At this stage we are intending to reopen the campground ( pending government approval) at the beginning of October 2020 or sooner . Hope you all had a Happy Easter !!!

22.01.2022 Campers at the campground enjoying themselves around the property and nearby. They had cooked a whole lamb (31kg) supplied by Umbeiella Farm in the Capertee Valley on the Saturday Night to feed everyone

20.01.2022 Heres Aarons pumpkin potato bake recipe Ingredients: 1 large pumpkin 5 potatoes... 1 sweet potato 2 onions 400 grams of diced bacon 500 grams of cheese 2 tablespoons minced garlic 300-450 ml cream 1 teaspoon chili (optional) Method: 1. Peel potatoes, sweet potato and onions. 2. Slice potatoes and sweet potato about 3-4 mm thick and onion a tad thicker as it doesnt take as long to cook. 3. Cut the top out of the pumpkin and hollow out the middle (large metal serving spoon is ideal) trying to keep all sides and the button of the pumpkin even 4. Place a layer of potato, sweet potato, onion, bacon pieces and garlic in the pumpkin, add some cream and repeat this process till the pumpkin is full, then place half a handful of cheese over the top. 5. Place pumpkin into the camp oven and sit on a bed of hot coals, also put coals on the lid, keep even heat throughout cooking. Cooking time may vary due to heat and size of the pumpkin.. use a skewer or knife to check softness of the pumpkin or potato when both are soft add a desired amount of cheese to the top and replace the lid to add hot coals till cheese has browned. 19.01.2022 I finally get to bed at 1am after a 5am rise and at 5.45am this morning I here children’s voices outside my bedroom at my private residence which woke me!! So a Dad and his son from the campground make their way up the track to see the sunrise and take a photo and they think this is ok ???? Although it’s written in the campground rules not to stray off tracks , this happens . Not happy and yes I did relay my annoyance ! Grrrrrrrrrrrr... Absolutely totally unacceptable See more

18.01.2022 Dallis Campground in the Capertee Valley and adjacent to the sublime Gardens of Rock, and Wollemi National Parks is a slice of heaven. Ive just spend 2 glorio...us days bushwalking, bird spotting, exploring the Valley, staring at the remarkable pagoda-stuffed landscape, and listening to Coco Creek babble and burble its way past the backdoor of my cabin. Steve has it all here on his property for solo travellers, families, and groups wanting astounding beauty, excellent facilities, and to be away from it all. Looking forward to getting back as soon as I can! See more

17.01.2022 "Exciting News for Campers" How would you like to arrive at your campsite and receive your pre-ordered Pasture Raised lamb, from one of the Capertee Valleys Regenerative farms! Dallis Campground has been given a unique opportunity to work with local farmers, Stuart & Terrie from "Umbiella Farm" to supply fresh pasture raised lambs direct to campers! Stuarts family have been farming in the Capertee valley for over 100 years. As ethical farmers & custodians of the land, Umbie...lla Farm practice low stress stock handling and are moving from sustainable farming systems into Regenerative farming practices. The lambs produced by Umbiella Farm are born and raised on the valley floor. Once they reach a suitable size the lambs are processed, then hung for 7 days before being butchered locally. All this to ensure the consumer is supplied with top quality meat. Dallis Campers have the opportunity to provide pre-ordered lamb delivered in half lamb or whole lamb packs as per the attached photos. When you place an order the animal goes directly from the paddocks to the processes. Its then butchered, labelled and packed into portions ready for your esky or Fridge. At this stage we are initially looking at supplying for major weekends at first (October,June, Australia day, Easter & Anzac Weekends) then hopefully every weekend in the future if demand warrants it. Could you please indicate if that is something you would consider as this is an EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST at this stage. See more

01.01.2022 Today was the last full day of the Bird Photography workshop in the beautiful Capertee Valley. I truly love running this workshop and getting out in nature with... a wonderful group of people. Here is a pic of Mr. & Mrs Hooded Robin that I feel captures part of the beauty this Valley has to offer. Thanks to Steve at Dallis Campground for allowing us to spend the day on his property. We were treated to a wide variety of bird life and a couple of the more challenging species to find.
