25.01.2022 Legends are leaving tomorrow!

24.01.2022 Tuesday - Santa Luis Gonzaga Feast Day. After our classes we visited Arte Ramelau where we handed over the books to Nildo and Paul. We also had the chance to buy some Timorese artwork. After lunch we went coffee picking. We attended 4 pm Mass to celebrate the Feast Day and then it was Fiesta time! We had dinner with the boys and girls from the boarding houses while being entertained by dancing and singing. We also had our turn on stage, singing two Australian songs for the group. 'Pheobe' and Emma's birthdays were also recognised with a birthday cake and many renditions of 'Happy Birthday' the Timorese way.

The views from this point were sublime. This afternoon the girls headed to the Colegia Canossia boarding College where they spent time making bracelets, sharing stories and doing each others hair. Whilst the boys did a substantial amount of upkeep to Villa Maria. James Lloyd also known as 'Jam'es Rodriguez' and Ashlee Smith

13.01.2022 Started today with 8 am Tetun Mass, then a drive out to Jakarta 2 for some Timorese history. The rest of the day was spent meeting locals, planning lessons, walking around the town and watching a football match.

12.01.2022 Benoite, Today we taught our first English class at Escola Santa Maria, the students were all enthusiastic and engaged in the lessons. Afterwards we visited a local market where we met more children who loved to have their photo taken. After lunch we journeyed up Sabagolau, a mountain. From the top we had amazing views of Ainaro, we could see the church, the school and Villa Maria. Emma Sherritt and Abbey Cutler

06.01.2022 Thursday: Today everyone experianced the hardship of teaching double classes as we commenced the teaching of year 10s; these classes consisted of 80 students each. Following the morning teachings we gathered our gifts from Emmaus, Mt Clear to present to Sao Paulo the primary school. The kids were ecstatic to recieve these gifts and meet us and were very excited to sing and dance as we celebrated the gifts. Post lunch we strolled to the river which ended up being an adventure ...into the unknown as we seemed to misplace our spot on the map. As we ventured through the dense bushland of Ainaro we came across a domestic soccer match in which the players were able to assist us in being our new travel guides. The hardship was worth it as we reached the "diak los" (very good) river. Some of us fell in and some of us were smart cookies and didn't fall in. From the boys Ryan, Riley, Thomas, Lockie and Daniel. P.s could not get photos working more coming soon! See more

06.01.2022 Hi All, Greetings from Ainaro. The photos show some tired people in the Darwin airport. A group of refreshed students at the Casa del Retiro (or the house of Retreat in Dare.) Then beside the bus on the highest point on the road from Maubissee about 1-2 hours before Ainaro.
