25.01.2022 Our office is experiencing a major service outage, which is affecting our phone and internet. All calls have been forwarded onto our mobiles. Emails will be attended to, however there may be a delay in response. We apologise for any inconvenience. Telstra has estimated a resolution by the 26th August.

24.01.2022 Ninth and last inspection for the day @ Yagoona @ 5.30pm. On this project we have a two storey house with a basement. Comments: We are inspecting the ground floor slab which is also a transfer slab. The slab is supported externally with dincel walls and internally with a column. Placement of reinforcement is critical especially in areas of high stress such as on top of columns and mid-spans.

24.01.2022 Fifth inspection @ Eastwood @ 12.45pm - another framing inspection for a huge 3 storey house and a quick lunch break. Comments: This house utilises a raked roof with timber LVL beams and timber I-joists which are very effective for long spans and to limit deflections. For long flat roofs the important thing is to tie the roof down, you don't want it flying off during a heavy wind storm.

23.01.2022 Peel Street, Canley Heights is coming along nicely! Structural elements completed all the way up to level 6.

23.01.2022 Third inspection @ Hornsby @ 11.15am. Single storey extension slab on ground inspection for reinforcement. Comments: Job was done neatly with good workmanship and good cover to all reinforcement. Just a reminder if you encounter rock when doing footings you need to make sure all the footings are bearing on rock so you don't get any differential settlement. In some cases you can use piers down to rock which is what this builder had done to ensure footings aren't too deep.

21.01.2022 Sixth inspection @ West Ryde @ 1.30pm - Over here we are inspecting the ground floor transfer post tensioned slab for a 6 storey building, this is a huge slab. Comments: We are utilising a post tension slab so we can limit the deflections in the slab which is carrying columns supporting the upper floors. This is an effective way to keep the slab thin and economical. You can also see on this site we have designed some temporary bracing to keep the original heritage facade in place utilising steel A-frames to take the wind load for stability during Construction.

18.01.2022 First inspection @ Seven Hills @ 10:00am - Framing inspection for single storey extension. Comments: overall the workmanship was very good and neat there were some minor items that needed rectification like blocking under the struts and some additional support for some of the beams otherwise all good.

05.01.2022 Eighth inspection @ Cronulla @ 4.00pm. On this site we are inspecting a slab on grade for a two storey luxury home. Comments: The slab will be polished concrete width hydronic heating. It is always important to note with polished concrete that the reinforcement must be increased to limit the amount of cracking, instead of the normal SL82 we recommend SL81 mesh and it is important to cure the slab with wet fabric continuously for at least 7 days to help prevent shrinkage cracks.

04.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Jack and his beautiful wife Shirley on their wedding . The Danmor Team just got bigger. Its time to party!!!!

04.01.2022 Fourth inspection @ Lane Cove @ 12:15pm - Carport and driveway slab inspection. Comments: Workmanship was good. For exposed concrete don't forget to put your trimmer bars in especially at re-entrant corners otherwise a diagonal crack will develop at the corner and your concrete won't look as good as it should. It is also important to cure your concrete continuously with water for at least 7 days to ensure you don't get any shrinkage cracks. Covering the slab with plastic after you pour is also good idea to ensure you don't get any excessive water loss from the slab especially on hot days which causes cracking.

02.01.2022 Second inspection @ Cherrybrook @ 10:45am - 3 storey house inspection. Failed retaining wall during the wet weather. Comments: It is important to ensure that any excavations are retained. If you have any walls you must ensure concrete is poured otherwise this will happen. Everything is good until it rains, water is relentless and excavations will collapse if nothing is done.

02.01.2022 Less than $200 to go! Please help #pushforbetter

02.01.2022 Seventh inspection @ Oatley @ 3.00pm. Inspecting the bottom floor of a three storey house. Comments: This is a raft slab on rock, the best foundation. However with steep sites like this you need to ensure the water is drained effectively from behind the walls using agg lines otherwise you will have dampness issues later on which will be extremely difficult to fix.
