09.01.2022 Hi everyone; hope you are enjoying your holidays wherever you are and watching plenty cricket like myself. ~Recommended to share/tag/comment this post to make y...our family and friends aware~ (EDUCATION POST) As there is a good upcoming rain event which should really kick off this weekend onwards (In Queensland); it is timely reminder that maintenance is required for rainwater tank system as it will provide better harvesting and improve water quality entering into your rainwater tanks. Picture 1: It's an example of rainwater head that hasn't been maintained properly. Picture 2 (Top right): Is a typical strainer that sits inside your rainwater head; this strainer collects the "finer particles" from rain; sludge from guttering system and the like however it also play an important role as "Mosquito" protection. NEVER remove these strainers and throw away-otherwise you will be breeding MOSQUITOES that may lead to Glandular/Ross River virus etc! Looking at the strainer would you drink the water? I say no. Blocked up strainer like this one shown the rain water will overflow from rainwater head-meaning precious LIQUID GOLD not entering into your rainwater tanks. Picture 3 (Bottom right): Typical strainer basket that sits on top of rain water tank. Again as you see in the picture; it is poorly maintained; again you would be missing out LIQUID GOLD entering into your rainwater tanks as it is partially blocked. Folks; I hope these simple tips and pictures will make you aware that maintaining your rainwater tanks is very important. Before this rain event kicks off go and check out your rainwater tanks. INTERESTING FACT: As a general rule of thumb; 1 square metre of roof area; 1mm of rain equals 1 litre. So for example; if your roof area is 300 square metres and you received 50mm of rain that equates to 15,000 litres! Happy rainwater harvesting! Cheers Tunza

08.01.2022 What the article fails to explain is the charge out rate of the tradesman compared to a wage of a lawyer! The true wage of any tradesman would be around the 25 to 35 dollar per hour. I have no doubt that the charge out rate of any lawyer anywhere in Australia would be upwards of $150 per hour!
