16.01.2022 MARKET UPDATE | In an outstanding show of strength for our team, there was a weekend of widespread success for the Fletchers group after selling 100% of prope...rties at auction on Saturday. Comparatively, the average clearance rate result achieved across Victoria sat at 80%, with 595 auctions reported across the state. The news only got better as the weekend came to an end, with the Victorian government lifting restrictions on both auctions and open for inspections. As a result, open for inspections can now be held without the need for private appointments, with the maximum limits on the number of people attending auctions now removed. According to Domain, ‘real estate agents will still needs to adhere to the COVID-19-safe rule of having one person per two square metres in a home where they collect buyer details digitally, or one person per four square metres for those collecting them via pen and paper.’ In response, Real Estate Institute of Victoria [REIV] President Leah Calnan welcomed the news, suggesting that there will be a portion of real estate agents who will continue to run private inspections and additional technology at auction. ‘I’m confident we’ll see the hybrid approach of using online and public auctions together continue. It means people can attend an auction from regional Victoria and sit and watch from home and vice versa,’ she said. Success. It’s a Fletchers thing.
