24.01.2022 This photo was taken around the 1960s . In Namibia formerly known as South West Africa in the Namibian desert. Prior to its collapse in 1988, this Finger of God was one of Namibias greatest tourist attractions. It collapsed in December 1988 following a rainstorm but another study showed that the Spitak earthquake in Armenia (over 11,000 km away) registered heavily in Namibia on the night the rock collapsed.

17.01.2022 WHAT IS A POLLEN FILTER FOR? Usually located in the engine compartment or cabin, beneath the windscreen, the pollen filter is a mechanically driven sieve with an electrostatic paper filter (or sometimes an active carbon filter) that attracts dust and plant particles such as pollen, spores and fungus, as well as chemical pollution in the air. The cabin air filter is the filter responsible for filtering the air that is fed into the vehicles heating and air conditioning systems.... The filter traps dust, pollen, and other foreign particles, preventing them from entering the vehicle and polluting the cabin. NOTE the difference in the dirty filter to the new filter in this picture. We check your pollen filters when you bring your vehicle to us for a service and may replace if required. SYMPTOMS THAT YOU REQUIRE YOUR AIR FILTER REPLACED Make note of these symptoms that indicate your air filter needs replacing: Reduced fuel economy. ... Misfiring engine. ... Unusual engine sounds. ... Check Engine Light comes on. ... Air filter appears dirty. ... Reduced horsepower. ... Black sooty smoke or flames exiting the exhaust. ... Smell of gasoline when starting the car. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR CABIN FILTER IS DIRTY? When your air filter is dirty, your engine is forced to work harder, resulting in poor fuel economy, higher emissions and, possibly, a loss of engine power. In turn, as a worst-case scenario, a clogged cabin air filter can lead to under-performance of the A/C system, causing weak air flow from the cabin vents.

04.01.2022 *COVID-19 UPDATE* Hello everyone! We hope everyone is keeping safe during these uncertain times. Due to the occurrence of COVID-19 we do unfortunately have to implement some new rules for the safety of our staff and customers. We do have to enforce these rules in order for us to continue operating for you for as long as possible. ... These new rules will be taking place as of Monday - the 30th of March, 2020. The new rules go as follows: Our reception area will essentially be closed. Please do not drop in without a booking. Please call beforehand as we no longer can accommodate to the people who do drop into our reception area and are expecting their vehicles to be looked at without calling. Anyone who does so may be asked to leave and come back at a different time. Please practice social distancing within the workshop. This means following the 1.5 metre allocated distance between people. This also includes no hand shaking and standing 1 metre away from the reception desk. Hand sanitiser is provided for customers to use when they enter the reception. We can no longer accomodate to people waiting in the waiting room for their vehicles to be serviced, you must have a way to and from the workshop and if you are in for a short period of time of 30 minutes or less (for something like a rego check) you must remain waiting outside and not inside the waiting room. This also includes being driven to the train station by any of our staff, as we can no longer do this. There will be a table and set of chairs provided outside for customers to sit. Please do not enter the workshop. For the health and safety of our mechanics we are not allowing any customers to walk through the workshop to say hello to the mechanics, they must enter through the reception and the receptionist will grab the mechanics for you or if no one is inside you may simply call out from the outside of the workshop if you’re not seen. Customers are not to walk through the lunch room to the workshop either. Any customer who walks into the workshop will be asked to return outside. If you are sick please refrain from coming to the workshop, give us a call and we can reschedule your booking with us. We understand if some of these new rules may seem unfair and inconvenient but we really do need to maintain these new rules for our customers, staff and staff’s family members. We hope everyone is keeping safe during these difficult times and we hope to continue being open for as long as we can for our customers and get back to normal as soon as possible. 04.01.2022 The last Land Rover to be worked on in the old workshop in Annangrove. It has been a challenging transition from a huge amount of space to a smaller workshop. We could have many vehicles waiting to be worked on and then parked inside overnight. Access to an abundance of parts old and new, stashed away in the labyrinth of rooms. Machinery to perform many tasks and the skill set to carry them out. It has been sad also after servicing Landies for so many years. Leaving behind many memories. Now, we are creating new memories in a new clean functional workshop. This move is for the best. A happy environment, happy mechanics = Happy customers.
