09.01.2022 A sad week for Victoria. The platypus has been officially added to our threatened species list as ‘vulnerable’. Human population growth, urban sprawl, droughts ...and now climate change have impacted the waterways where they live. The announcement came with some initial funding to start restoring habitat, but we need sustained action to protect the species in the long-term. We’re calling for amendments to The Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act so habitat declarations and conservation orders are made mandatory. You can also help by taking part in the ‘Great Victorian Platypus Search’.
