21.01.2022 A big thank you the guys that did come today. Given the super short notice of the mini lock down etc. I knew a few wouldn't see the post. Turned out pretty neat. Wayyyyyy too windy out here to ride so we decided to take a chunk longer to talk all things bike and eat some more fresh Lasagna. It was a good chance to run throught it without the pressure of a bigger group, so I know now when we can do it bigger it will be a great day. Possibly with a morning ride and lunch instea...d. Also a massive thank you to my amazing and beautiful girlfriend, Ildiko who prepared some very delicious food. Ildi went well beyond and took a lot of stress off me. We will do this again.

08.01.2022 I have to give a massive shout out to this guy. Ben @wallis_paints . He has had my back since day one of Devlin Custom. Always pushing me to go big on the frames and he'd produce the paint to suit. I can honestly say he has exceeded expectations everytime and sometimes under some crazy time constraints (usually pre builder shows, sorry mate). The latest paint is so on point for me and perfect in application. Do yourself a favour if you need that perfect paint job. Ben will surpass.

07.01.2022 Here at Devlin Custom head quarters we work mega hard at producing the best bikes we can. I say we, because even though it's myself standing at the bench doing teh metal work I have a big team of people behind me who all have an input into the outcome of my product. Some have have a major part to play as in Ben Wallis with his amazing paint skills. My amazingly talented daughter Lauren who provides art direction to suppliers who have been willing to work with to my girlfriend... Ildi and family and friends who all provide input and support in various ways it wouldn't be possible without them all. I am satisfied with what we have produced so far but also have this internal drive to reach higher levels of fit, function and form. I'm always rolling around in my head tweaks and new projects to build. Would probably have 10 projects I'd love to build from pure speed track bikes through to big travel down hill bike. Only so many hours in a day though, sadly. Watch this space though as the first project kicks off in the next week. Hopefully they will come through quickly with the plan to have three completely new bikes before christmas. Ambitious but now it's out there, I'm all in. I recently posted the last frame that went out to a Facebook page and the response it got was overwhelming to be honest. It does bring a little smile of satisfaction and pride if I was honest. 03.01.2022 While there are a bunch of really cool jigs available this is the reality of prototyping. I have an idea and a vision of how I want this frame to be, so figuring out how to build it is quite the smashed crab for brains. What this process does though is help me understand the jigs I need to build once I move beyond the prototype. . Here Im using the tube block which has been squared up using my alignment table. The measurement I was aiming to hit was 25.5mm so pretty close and... its as square as possible. I will be tidying up the joints before brazing but I like the style that's coming out it. 01.01.2022 As I move through my building progression, Im finding the awesome offerings from the tube makers don't quite fit what I'd like to do or an aesthetic Im after. For the rear end on this suspension bike, I was planning on using Columbus Zona single bend chainstays. A nice strong tube but the shape doesn't quite lend to the application in mind. That being the taper down to OD12.5mm. . Here Im using 22.2OD x 0.9mm wall 4130 tubes and creating my own. Flattened for clearance and jo...ining at the front end and big and round for the pivot assembly to attach in the rear axle area. . Using aluminium extrusion and relying on its flex to create the transition from oval to round and it was a success.
