17.01.2022 The Discovery Centre joins Bendigo in mourning the death of Gordon McKern Bendigo Treasure and a great friend of the Discovery Centre. Gordon was instrumental in the creation of the Discovery Centre during his period as a Commissioner of the newly formed municipality and negotiations were underway creating the Marketplace. A long term supporter and patron of the Discovery Centre Gordon was once again there for Discovery when we were threatened with closure in 2015. He step...ped in and helped persuade the powers that be that Discovery should be given a chance to stand on its own as an independent organisation. Gordon then used his networks to bring on new Board members. Gordon was always there to provide advice, input and political clout. His wisdom and contribution will be sorely missed.
