25.01.2022 Happy Lunar New Year to all of our families and team!

22.01.2022 On Friday, all of the children in the centre from the two toddler rooms and 3 & 4 year old kinder rooms gathered in the beautiful weather outdoors for a special open fire cooked lunch! The toddlers had made the bread with their educators early in the morning and our Kindergarten teacher Carly was busy cooking burgers and corn on the cob over the fire. The children all sat together to enjoy their burgers in the sun before coming inside for rest or afternoon learning program.

20.01.2022 PENGUIN ALERT! Starting tonight and streaming every night from 6:00pm, you can watch live as the fairy penguins at Phillip Island make their journey home swimming from the ocean to the beach and waddling home to their burrows! Phillip Island Nature Park are launching this live stream of their much-loved penguin parade for families to enjoy from the comfort of their homes.... See Link below https://www.youtube.com/user/PIPenguinParade

20.01.2022 On Wednesday 22/04/20 the Junior toddlers participated in MESSY PLAY DAY by making a foamy-textured slime by mixing the juice from chickpea cans and some cream of tartare in the electric mixer! The children watched with fascination as the ingredients mixed together to make a new consistency. We then put on some art smocks and put the coloured mixtures onto the table. The children used their fingers to mix the colours together and made comments about the textures while we identified the different colours! Learning Outcome 4 Children develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity.

19.01.2022 The children in all of our rooms had a wonderful time celebrating Easter! There was a lot of craft activities with children creating their own hats before our annual Easter hat parade and they also crafted Easter egg baskets which they took on an Easter egg hunt! There was a lot of anticipation and excitement and all of the children had a wonderful time with their friends.

18.01.2022 We had a very enjoyable and educational Anzac Day this year! From our Nursery to the Kindergarten, all of our age groups were involved in painting and poppy flower craft activities and engaged in a cooking activity and of course, cookie tasting afterwards! Our whole centre also engaged in a ceremonial outdoor fire to discuss the Eternal Flame and teach the children about fire safety.

16.01.2022 In consultation with our Educators, we recently purchased over $8000 in resources to support the interests of the children who are currently attending our service. There was a strong emphasis on natural wooden products, construction and home corner resources as well as outdoor games for smaller groups of children. We also encourage parents to provide feedback about resources and programs that they would like to see. Please email your suggestions or leave them in the comments below!

06.01.2022 Staff member in the spotlight: Sahiba Have you met our cooking-extraordinaire Sahiba? Sahiba joined our team five years ago in the Nursery room and is a big support to the whole centre. She has been standing in for Tessa while she has been on maternity leave as the Senior Toddler Room Leader and is also responsible for running our monthly Master Chef cooking days! Sahiba enjoys cooking in her free time and spending time with her family and friends. She has built trusting, supportive relationships with families as well as her colleagues over the years and we feel very lucky to have her on the Discovery Boronia team! Thank you Sahiba and keep up the great work!
