24.01.2022 A rare visitor to Docklands yesterday, with perfect conditions for lovers of and those who appreciate our beautiful waterways!

24.01.2022 Warm your cockles, Docklanders!

23.01.2022 Something Maritime is happening here in beautiful Docklands. Seniors Week starts at Alma Doepel shed on Monday! Come one, come all. Everyone is welcome! Traditional shipwrights are "steaming" ahead restoring Alma's frames. Watch in awe as they steam, bend, glue, shape, paint and bolt these huge frames into place. This may never be seen again in Docklands!

22.01.2022 Waters edge dining, it doesn't get closer than that! #MelbourneDocklands - for waterside dining!

21.01.2022 A blast from the past! The land on which Docklands is built used to an abundant wetland ecosystem providing for the original people who roamed these lands. Yesterday, mother nature gave us a sense of what Docklands is Beautiful may have looked like all those years ago. With thanks to Diego Moreno for capturing this moment "Docklands Wetlands".

19.01.2022 Residents of the Docklands have been guarding a well-kept secret to happiness. We reveal all in our latest blog post. #VictoriaHarbour #Docklands #Melbourne #LaughterClub

19.01.2022 ...my beautiful front yard on a crisp, clear winter’s day in Docklands #lovewhereilive #solucky I first moved to Docklands in March 2003 when there were only 3 buildings and lots and lots of containers and docks and not much else. It has been wonderful living here and watching it grow and evolve around me into the thriving community that it now is. ... For those of you that think that Docklands is just a windy wasteland, come and get to know her. She really does have hidden delights around every corner. From the gorgeous dolphin that often frolics in our waters, to the great choice of restaurants and bars, the amazing Library, the art and sculpture spaces (Blowhole has always been my favourite) to the new Hoyt’s cinema with $7:50 ticket deals (yay, I love going to the movies), the ice skating, ice hockey, ice slide, the Aqua Donuts, outdoor movies in the park, Burlesque cruises, Melbourne Star, the free Docklands Blues Festival, the gorgeous swans and baby cygnets that visit most days. Trust me, the list goes on an on and on. But wait, there’s more! Don’t miss the incredible Firelight Festival on 28, 29 & 30 June. I’ve been watching them set it up & it’s going to be sensational! See you all there! https://www.google.com.au//eve/firelight-festival-2019/amp

19.01.2022 Humans have clustered around the Yarra for 40,000 years. But soon after Melbourne was founded, we turned our backs on it. We poisoned our river and left it to d...ie. How could we have been so careless with our main natural artery, and our primary source of drinking water? Around the 1970s, Melbourne eventually rediscovered the Yarra and we turned to face it once again. After decades of hard work, our river is now healthy. Now it's something we can be proud of. And we're going to make sure it stays that way.

12.01.2022 Docklands needs a home for it's historic vessels with workshop, slipway and berthing. Shed 2 North Wharf Rd will soon be redeveloped, and our heritage vessels that enjoy this space currently - thanks to generosity of Lendlease, City of Melbourne and Places Victoria, will need a new home. Why not ensure this new space remains in Docklands and caters for restoration work, provides berthing, a visitor centre and has a wall big enough for this Cavalcade of Transport! It would be a great place for visitors to witness transport from a bygone era!

12.01.2022 Alma needs you!!! We are at a critical phase of the restoration where we need all hands on deck (ha!). Our shipwrights are busy completing some pretty complex ...work, and we need an army of helpers to assist in immediate tasks which can be tackled even if you are completely unskilled in the fine art of ship building. Please contact [email protected] or phone Bill on 0416 153 116 for more information! #volunteering #almadoepel #docklands #community #restoration #hardyakka #giveback
