20.01.2022 A postnatal checkup today with my lovely patient, Tessa, and her beautiful baby girl not going to lie, these are definitely one of my favourite kinds of appointments to do . . . .... . #obstetrics #gynaecology #pregnancy #fertility #fertilityjourney #ivf #ivfcommunity #doctor #medicine #health #womenshealth #brisbane #australia See more

15.01.2022 34 weeks and we have the beautiful Roxi Rockmelon! A slightly delayed scan photo from my lovely patients who have been sharing these with me since the size of a blueberry once again, I am still amazed to see how humans grow from a microscopic embryo, to a rockmelon, to adults (who eventually grow taller than you in my case ) . . . .... . #obstetrics #gynaecology #pregnancy #scan #fertility #fertilityjourney #ivf #ivfcommunity #doctor #medicine #health #womenshealth #brisbane #australia See more

08.01.2022 On October 22, the Polish Constitutional Tribunal ruled that abortions due to foetal abnormalities are unconstitutional. On Friday, tens of thousands of woman in Warsaw marched to protest against this decision. These are the biggest protests in Poland since the Solidarity marches in the 1980s, which I remember myself. The problem with foetal abnormalities, and why terminations are performed, is that the baby unfortunately almost never lives; they either do not survive to bir...th, and if they do, only live for a few days. And on the other side, foetal abnormalities increase the risk of complications for the mother and also put her life at risk. This leaves only very few grounds for abortion in Poland, being rape, incest, or a threat to the mother’s health or life. For many protesting, this decision is seen as one that chips away at fundamental human rights and that is a concerning aspect, but whatever your stance on politics and terminations, this is concerning at the very least from a medical point of view #strajkkobiet Photos from @nytimes . . . . #obstetrics #gynaecology #pregnancy #fertility #fertilityjourney #ivf #ivfcommunity #doctor #medicine #health #womenshealth #brisbane #australia

06.01.2022 A wonderful Christmas party at @same.same.restaurant with my staff and colleagues last week to round off what’s been a tumultuous year, to say the least. It was a year ago now that the mysterious coronavirus was popping up in Wuhan, and only 9 or so months ago that we were being told to halt all elective surgery. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my colleagues and especially my spectacular secretary Sharon, who has put up with me through thick and thin. We’re very lu...cky to be able to go out to a restaurant now and spend some time together, as many countries around the world are still battling with COVID. But with vaccinations already starting next week in the UK hopefully things will be looking up! To all my beautiful patients and your families, happy holidays and enjoy your time together. Don’t think too much about this year, rather let’s focus on the next . . . . . #obstetrics #gynaecology #pregnancy #fertility #fertilityjourney #ivf #ivfcommunity #doctor #medicine #health #womenshealth #brisbane #australia See more

05.01.2022 COMFORT FOOD Normally I’d post a veggie-packed meal that looks super healthy and full of nutrients, but sometimes that just doesn’t hit the spot. This was my dinner on Friday night, a Polish favourite: naleniki! It’s basically a Polish crepe and my favourite way to have them is with a vanilla-flavoured cottage cheese/quark filling and with a bit of jam I make the naleniki, fill them, and then fry them again in a bit of butter so they go all crispy and crunchy but th...e filling was @barambahorganics high protein-low fat cottage cheese, so balance, right? . . . . . #obstetrics #gynaecology #pregnancy #fertility #fertilityjourney #ivf #ivfcommunity #doctor #medicine #health #womenshealth #brisbane #australia #food #cooking #polish #jedzonko See more
