25.01.2022 How can the CFMEU ensure that workers are not as exposed to extreme heat? Daylight savings, of course! Most tradeworkers work from 6am to 2pm, attempting to finish before the hottest hours of the day. Daylight saving would make it an hour cooler in the mornings! https://www.theaustralian.com.au//01193ab6cc2b7c7dc59340a6

25.01.2022 But wont the cows get confused if you change the Ekka date? https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10158668297104669&id=59944789668

24.01.2022 You know what might encourage the Queensland and Northern Territory Air Service back to its original home? You guessed it....daylight saving! Lets restore the Q in Qantas! https://www.smh.com.au//qantas-mulls-moving-sydney-head-of

24.01.2022 Heres a cheeky little video made by our friends at Pillowfight Productions to support our cause. Enjoy!

24.01.2022 You cant even make this stuff up! According to the Sydney Morning Herald, "The Constituent has requested the duration of the daylight saving period in NSW be shortened as it has a significant impact on climate change," NSW Labor Leader Jodi McKay wrote on October 11. "I await your consideration and response on this matter." If you havent had a good laugh today...here you go! Can you believe these people are in office?! ... https://www.smh.com.au//too-hot-to-walk-in-park-labor-lead

23.01.2022 Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane need to put an end to old rivalries. This includes Queenslands resistance to being in the same time zone as our southern neighbours year-round. Whats good for business is good for Queenslanders! ttps://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/business/the-economy/why-melbourne-sydney-and-brisbane-should-put-an-end-to-old-rivalries-20200522-p54vm7.html

21.01.2022 "Ai Group conducted a survey in 2018 and found that around one in 10 businesses currently operating in Queensland were less likely to place jobs and investment in the state due to the summertime differences. About 17 per cent of national businesses not currently operating in Queensland were less likely to open branches here due to the time disparity." https://inqld.com.au//maybe-its-time-we-opened-the-curtai/

21.01.2022 Another poll to prove that Queenslanders OVERWHELMINGLY support daylight saving. Comment on the ABC link below to show your support! (Bonus points if you add your personal favourite reason for wanting daylight saving) https://www.facebook.com/59944789668/posts/10158188302389669/?substory_index=0&refid=12

21.01.2022 Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews flatly rejects the argument against daylight saving. Good onya Dan!! As Mr Andrews states, the extra hour of daylight would hopefully help make the summer like no other. https://www.news.com.au///000ce3630de71247a5a915b5d297cc39

20.01.2022 Did you know that daylight saving has been proven to reduce crime? According to a paper published in The Review of Economics and Statistics, when DST begins in the spring, robbery rates for the entire day fall an average of 7 percent, with a much larger 27 percent drop during the evening hour that gained some extra sunlight. https://www.brookings.edu//fighting-crime-with-daylight-s/

20.01.2022 Our children need playlight savings! Daylight saving means less screen time for kids. An American study found that television viewership dropped 7% after the daylight savings time adjustment. And according to todays Courier-Mail, "Australian families are being encouraged to adopt playlight savings and make the most of the extra sunlight hours to improve their health." https://www.couriermail.com.au//acab115edbcf79d6c896be39d3... 19.01.2022 The Courier-Mail is currently running the Queensland sentiment survey. Whether you like the Courier-Mail or not, we encourage everyone to complete the survey and respond "daylight saving time" to Question #35. Lets try to make this the number #1 response! By doing so, politicians will be forced to deal with the issue in the upcoming election campaign. https://www.couriermail.com.au//c0a4dfe0d3fb5ecd1853fa08d9

18.01.2022 The inane comments on the Courier-Mails Facebook post indicate just how ignorant some people are, but remember that we supporters are a majority! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157423042847702&id=90004797701

18.01.2022 Once we have daylight saving, you wont have to go back to work after the Melbourne Cup is over https://www.theroar.com.au//what-time-does-the-2019-melbo/

17.01.2022 What will Queensland and Ireland have in common after Brexit? https://www.dailymail.co.uk//Ireland-faces-time-zone-borde

14.01.2022 Really happy for those individuals such as Jackie Trad who are fortunate enough to have daytime hours to exercise, but many of us dont finish work until 5pm or later, and with gyms closed we are having to exercise in the dark. Totally unsafe! That extra hour would mean so much to many of us! https://www.facebook.com/324660077589275/posts/2899403043448286/

14.01.2022 Even our local koala population has had enough! #itsabouttimequeensland

14.01.2022 Will people in Belfast find it annoying to be in a different time zone to Dublin? You bet they will! We can sympathise https://www.irishpost.com//northern-ireland-faces-differen

We cannot emphasise enough the impact this will have in letting them know what we want. Fourth, use our hashtags #itsabouttimeqld and #itsabouttimequeensland in your own posts. And finally, send us your ideas! We are always looking for great articles, photos and other content to share across our platforms and website (coming soon). Lets keep the momentum up and resolve this ridiculous issue once and for all

13.01.2022 A recent ABC Talks poll shows that only 47% of Australian women feel safe walking home at night. Totally unacceptable! One thing we *can* do is ensure that it stays light for the entirety of the evening commute home. Daylight saving would have meant a 6.55pm sunset - and twilight until 7.47 - this evening in Brisbane https://www.abc.net.au//annabel-crabb-australia-t/11579644

12.01.2022 How do you even begin to make sense of this?! We can do so much better

11.01.2022 Is there one single reasonable argument against daylight saving? (Spoiler alert: No) https://www.triplem.com.au/story/daylight-savings-149198

11.01.2022 Ladies and Gentlemen, facts... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157214212202702&id=90004797701

10.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone! Remember to follow us on Instagram @daylight_saving_for_seq Were up to more than 700 followers

08.01.2022 Start times for the AFL Grand Final How ridiculous! Queensland needs to be on the same time as Sydney and Melbourne, or we risk losing major sporting events like this in the future. Sporting events create jobs and stimulate the economy https://7news.com.au//factor-in-daylight-savings-afl-annou

08.01.2022 We suggest adding #6: Implement daylight saving as an economic lifeline. Hospitality and airlines, which happen to be the two most troubled industries at the moment, are the *primary* beneficiaries of DST! https://www.facebook.com/263462127087524/posts/2400683106698738/

06.01.2022 We would like to acknowledge Golden Circle for their support of daylight saving. Playlight Savings is all about giving kids and families more outdoor time away from phones and tv screens. Well done, Golden Circle! https://www.playlightsavings.com.au/... *If your business supports daylight savings, please let us know and we will support you :)

04.01.2022 After all these years, we *finally* see eye to eye with Bob Katter. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1729684997173283&id=130736376939223

04.01.2022 Yes, Queenslanders *do* need an economic plan, and this includes daylight saving. Lets ensure that Queensland leads the path to economic recovery! Which party can bring the change that the majority want? Edit: This is not to say we endorse either major party. Just provoking a productive political dialogue on the one issue that matters https://www.facebook.com/263462127087524/posts/2508035115963536/

04.01.2022 This happened in 1992 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JWTaaS7LdU And so did Queenslands one & only referendum on Daylight Saving! A 28 year outdated result that doesnt reflect current demographics or community sentiment. Its an election year, so whenever you see MPs, candidates and helpers, let them know that Queensland needs Daylight Saving!

03.01.2022 Todays sunset times around Australia: Adelaide: 7:47pm Brisbane: 6:15pm Canberra: 7:36pm... Darwin: 7:07pm Hobart: 7:48pm Melbourne: 7:54pm Perth: 6:46pm Sydney: 7:26pm In fact, the only major cities in the entire southern hemisphere with an earlier sunset are Antananarivo (Madagascar), Jakarta, and Recife & Salvador (Brazil). All of these cities are well inside the tropics (Brisbane is roughly 500km south of the Tropic of Capricorn).

01.01.2022 The economic losses from not having daylight saving in Queensland are in the billions. Yes, you read that right. Businesses choose to take their operations to southern states to be in sync with other states, and our states tourism economy suffers because darkness means visitors are less likely to be out and about in the late afternoon. Annastacia Palaszczuk MP and Jackie Trad need to wake up to this reality. Not only is this a personal issue for many of us, its a massive dr...ag on the economy! Not to mention that the majority are in favour! https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au//queensland-s-economy-ran
