20.01.2022 As People International Australia relaunches it's Facebook page we thought we'd take the opportunity to state what we are all about. People International Australia exists to unveil God's glory to Central Asian Muslims by sending Australian gospel workers to Central Asia. It is true that many thousands of Central Asians have come to Australia and other western countries, where the opportunities hear the gospel are greater. However many millions still remain in Central Asia wh...ere the opportunities to hear are slim. Gospel workers still need to be sent to this least reached region of the world. 17.01.2022 This letter is from our UK Director This year I have noticed how many people have put up their Christmas lights in November. It seems that lockdown has felt so dark that many felt the need to lift their spirits and turn on their multi-coloured lights. As an unseen germ has turned the whole world upside down and made this a year that will not be forgotten in our lifetime, I can see why people want to brighten their existence. Our Saviour, Jesus Christ, was born into humanity a...s the Light of the World and in a world that is consumed by darkness of sin and rejection of God, the light of the gospel still shines brightly today. In fact, Jesus isn’t just the Light of the World, he is the only real light in this world without the hope and life that he brings, this world remains lost in a darkness that will stretch into eternity. Is Covid Central Asia’s greatest tragedy? Central Asia has been very badly hit by Covid and the health systems cannot touch anything like our NHS, but even the tragedy of Covid terrible though it is, is nothing compared to the tragedy that over 1/2 billion people know nothing about the Light of the World and they live in darkness, pass into eternity into darkness without getting the opportunity to hear that there is light, life and hope in Jesus Christ. Our own nation has pretty much despised the Light of the World, but most people still have access to discover the light and this isn’t the case in Central Asia. In many of these countries, 40-50% of the population are under 26 years old another generation growing up without the truth and hope of the gospel, whilst 10,000 people die every day on average in Central Asia. A plea and prayer for Central Asia in 2021 Please forgive my passion but how can this be as we approach 2021? Please pray that the gospel would reach Central Asia in a special way in 2021. Whilst our urgent call is for more workers to get up and go, everyone reading this is able to pray with fresh determination to our God who can do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine. Thank you for your prayers and support! Much blessing and DO enjoy and celebrate the Light of the World this Christmas!!

16.01.2022 'Something to Bring' from one of our Central Asia workers. Now we are months into the corona-situation and the initial panic has subsided. However, there are enough reminders that make people think. A neighbour dies, a family is suffering economic hardship, yet another family member falls ill. Yesterday one of our workers, a young Muslim lady, said: The situation in the world worries me. When will things be the way they were before this illness came? When will this virus be... gone? I explained to her that most likely things will never be the same again and that the virus is here to stay. She continues: Even without this virus, there is a lot wrong. Maybe this will be the end of the world? I nod. Maybe. We then had a long conversation about what happens after this life; how we can have peace and know that we will have eternal life. When you go visiting someone, you always have to bring a dastarkhon she tells me. (I.e. some food to contribute to the table, that people often bring wrapped in a tablecloth.) When you come to the other world, you also have to bring something. You should have your hands filled with good works. But my hands are still empty... I tell her that I will enter there with empty hands, because Jesus already paid the price. If I had to bring anything myself, I would be lost. See more

04.01.2022 A family's father died recently, and he was the first believer in the local area. He had faced much opposition and persecution for many years, but he stood firm and now he is with the One he served faithfully. However, the local authorities would not let them bury their father because he was not of the local faith. This is an increasingly common story now and is seen as a way to punish a believing family. The body must remain with them in the house as they are not allowed t...o bury it anywhere. It can go on indefinitely. In this case the local believing community supported the family and stood up for them. They made many, many trips to the local Mayor to ask him to do something about this. Finally, the prayers and unity of the believers made the situation change. The authorities allocated some land in the middle of the cemetery for Christians to be buried, right between those of the local faith and those of the Jewish faith. So now, right in the middle, in a new area, their father, even in death is making a way for all the other believers in the region. What a witness to the power of our Friend. He is the centre of life no matter what others think or say. The man who died has left a very strong legacy among his brothers and sisters. Apparently, many of the local faith group also are now treating them much differently and asking questions about what they believe because they saw the life he had lived.

04.01.2022 A recent story from the field A few weeks ago, a young girl who is a believer, went away a few days away from home with some other young believers from their home church. When she returned home to her small town, she was so fired up she started sharing with all her classmates at school. One of them was really interested, so she started meeting with the classmate regularly to read the Scriptures. However, a few days later she was abruptly taken from class and found herself... in the Principal's office being severely threatened and shouted at. This went on for more than an hour. She was told she must stop talking about this subject and stop sharing this book, otherwise her parents would be called and what she was doing would also be publicly announced in front of the whole school. She was very frightened by this because her parents are not believers. This 'visit' with the Principal was repeated several days in a row and the Principal was becoming more and more angry. The girl asked for advice from the people who had shared the gospel with her and invited her to church - and she prayed a lot. Then she decided to fast and pray for a whole day. The day after her fast she was again called into the Principal's office, but instead of yelling at her again, this time he wanted the Bible, so she gave it to him. He called her back again the next day, and told her, much to her surprise, that she could continue reading the Book with her friend. And she could read with others too if she wanted!!! She has not had problems from the Principal since then. Our God's faithfulness is amazing. If the Principal had carried out his threat the consequences for her could have been extreme - even to the point of being locked away, sent away from family or starved until she gave up.

01.01.2022 If you see 20 people carrying a log of wood, and 19 people are at one end and 1 person is at the other end, which end are you going to go and help? The conference was nearly forty years ago, but I distinctly remember just one thing this one question that was asked. I remember thinking at the time - Well, duh, it’s pretty obvious isn’t it?... The speaker went on to explain that this was a picture of the distribution of gospel workers around the world. Countries like New Zealand and Australia and other western countries have many gospel workers but in many countries there are not. In one way or another that principle has guided me then our family in the decisions about where to work. The country we served in for ten years has a very small but growing number of believers. To give an idea, if Australia were like the country we were in, in Sydney there would be a little over 300 Christians in the whole city. Its popular to say these days that ‘The nations are coming to us’. The implication is that we don’t need to send people overseas into cross cultural ministry. It’s true that thousands are coming to us, but millions are not. I’ve posted (again) a map of Central Asia that shows how great the task still is, and despite Covid19, we are still committed to sending workers into the harvest of Central Asia.
