25.01.2022 A Performer Trike-F called by for a bit of a performance boost - installation of an E-assist kit, 36V 200 Watt for those that like techy bits! Ready to romp up the hills now!

25.01.2022 Hub motors are still a viable option for e-assist, and a delta trike is one of the easiest to convert. Slip in a 20" wheel and motor combo, battery and wiring and we're away. 200 watts and the 20" wheel naturally limits the top speed, but provides a welcome boost when needed!

25.01.2022 A green GT20 (yes I nearly wrote Greenspeed) with an e-assist kit ready for the road. Bafang mid drive with a colour LCD display, gear change sensor, and e-brake sensors that let you keep the original levers with park brake. Neat.

24.01.2022 Just what every well dressed recumbent rider needs - a set of Recumbent Themed Cuff Links! Made by a local silversmith artist, identical ones to these are not available but unique individual designs certainly are. These are for the Junior Test Pilot's school Formal, so I guess he's no longer "junior"! Have a great night tonight!

23.01.2022 The recent welcome wet weather has turned some of our rail trails a bit wet and soggy. What better than a Fat Trike to tackle them. Greenspeed offer a Fat Tyre upgrade to the Magnum BW, 20 x 4" tyres on the front, 24 x 4" rear...something very different to the road-going trikes normally seen!

22.01.2022 One of the more challenging assemblies we have done recently has been an e-kit onto a Greenspeed Anura. Having determined that a front wheel hub motor would not give the performance the owner desired, we opted for a Bafang mid drive. To make this a success we have had to design and make not just a battery mount, but a chain tensioner, positive location devices for the Nuvinci hub, revised steering link and arm, and locate the major controls to the left handlebar for one hand operation. The trike rides and steers just as it should, and has since been disassembled and packed for it's international trip to it's new home. 22.01.2022 As hand trikes are a version of recumbents, naturally we support and service them as well. Here's a Top End Force we have modified by replacing the original 9 speed derailleur gears with an 8 speed internal hub gear in the interest of ease of use - the hub gear can be shifted while not cranking. Of course we test rode it, but I confess, not very far! Junior Test Pilot was volunteered for a second opinion, and we agree - it's not as easy as it looks!

19.01.2022 Can you commute on a recumbent? Certainly! Exhibit 1: Performer High Racer, 20km per day, day in, day out to school and back, and lives outside in the bike rack all day. A bit grubby at the end of term, but a quick wash and once over and good to go again. Exhibit 2: Our aging Greenspeed GT3 (we have no idea of it's history...), again 20km a day and a once over at the end of season and good to go!... 16.01.2022 A new year with a different modification - a Rehatri trike with fixed gear. Yep, that's right, a fixie! For use in a controlled and supervised environment, this trike is fixed gear, nice low gear for pedalling at walking pace, and has cranks with a selection of pedal positions (125, 150, and 175 mm positions). The new owner is going to have a ball...

16.01.2022 Seen the Magnum Big Wheel recently? All the great Magnum features plus the looks of the 26 rear wheel. Accessories on this trike are the headrest, rear rack, and rear view mirror and accessory post. (This one was so new we had not even unwrapped the handgrips!) Of course, if one is good, two is better!

11.01.2022 Greenspeed have quietly introduced a new rack for the GT26 and Magnum BW trikes, and it's a beauty. Rated for 40kg, it's light but solid and I could imagine it carrying all sorts of stuff.
