14.01.2022 What a great day Saturday was for the 105th Dunedoo Show. The temperature reached a sunny (although slightly humid) 33 degrees. The rain over the previous week had made the arena nice and green and settled the dust. Thanks to the show committee who work tirelessly behind the scenes and to everyone who came through the gates and made it a great day. If you happened to miss the fireworks or Walter Whip and the Flames heres a little snippet.

10.01.2022 Reminisce the Royal In 2019, Effie Fergusson was a The Land Sydney Royal Easter Showgirl State Finalist representing Dunedoo Show Society. Effie was named t...he 2019 Runner Up and joined our committee as the Honorary Showgirl. As Effie reflects on the many memories, opportunities and friendships of the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show, she shares a photo taken in the Country Womens Association (CWA) of NSW Tea Rooms where Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Ltd Showgirl Coordinator Nicky Seeto took the girls for a break; "after the whirlwind of the showgirl program, I remember Nicky taking us to the CWA stand. Sally, Steph and I sat down to have a cuppa and some scones with the CWA ladies and take it all in. I cant wait to be back next year to catch up with the people that have become my show family!" Effie is pictured with the 2019 The Land Sydney Royal Easter Showgirl Stephanie Clancy (right) and Second Runner Up Sally Downie (left). 09.01.2022 Rydal, Oberon and Dunedoo Shows have kicked off the Group 12 Shows with already such vast and unpredictable weather for the committees to compete with. Rydal... received two inches of rain over the course of the show but that didnt stop the dedicated team from putting on a show. Emily was announced Showgirl, congratulations for continually running such a successful competition. The pavilion was full and beautiful from all reports and while things were a bit soggy, all events went ahead. Hats off to you! Oberon were lucky to fit in Rooftop Express a little earlier in the night as the deluge of rain held off until the Sunday. There were a variety of displays from stud sheep to reptiles, sideshow alley and a mechanical bull. The yard dogs proved very popular with strong numbers recorded and the Mid-West Axemen were in full swing. Dunedoo had a very strong horse community with the 6-Bar making a spectacle into the early evening. The shearing competition would have to take the cake for the greatest crowd draw card, even as the humidity set in and clouds went around leaving the sun beating down. This weather made it even more appropriate for the ever popular ring-side bar, full of patrons. Congratulations to all three show societies for hosting your annual show in times that can only be described as tough and unpredictable. A great team of volunteers are behind each and every one of our shows so be sure to support them with your gate entry and patronage. Upcoming Group 12 Shows! 08.01.2022 Congratulations Hannah Yeo and Lauren Eccles from Merriwa Show Society on making it further to represent Zone 5 and their respective shows at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in April. All the best ladies. Xx
08.01.2022 OFFICIAL UPDATE: Due to increased public concern, to protect the health of stakeholders and visitors, and in response to the Prime Minister and COAGs directio...n that any organised mass gathering over 500 people should be cancelled, the 2020 Sydney Royal Easter Show is cancelled. It is distressing and disappointing to cancel the Show for 2020. There are many people who will be very upset by this decision, and this is the first time the Sydney Royal Easter Show has been cancelled because of a public health emergency since the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1919. The safety and well-being of our patrons and visitors is paramount and out of precaution, and in consultation with NSW Health, The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW has decided this is the best course of action. We appreciate that the cancellation of the Show is a huge disappointment for our Show community, particularly exhibitors and visitors from rural and regional NSW who love attending the Show to catch up with friends and celebrate with us every year. We are implementing a number of measures to deal with ticket and entry fee refunds and will be in contact with ticket holders and exhibitors regarding this process within the next five working days. You will find regular updates on the Sydney Royal Easter Show website: https://fal.cn/373Pa We appreciate your understanding and patience as our team works through the logistics and issues that come with cancelling an event of the scale and complexity of the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
