24.01.2022 Well, Stuart's portrait was on its way home, however there was no room on the art mover's truck for him yesterday -- so he'll be home in another two weeks. Stua...rt has very kindly offered to purchase himself and I am, on his behalf, giving $2.5K to his favoured charity, Breast Cancer Network Australia, www.bcna.org.au which is close to his heart and he is also their ambassador. 24.01.2022 Check out this mesmerizing school of striped eel catfish (Plotosus lineatus), captured by Abyss Dive Center Bali. When young they form large ball-shaped schools... of up to a 100 fish, but as they mature, they prefer to be alone or in smaller groups. On their first dorsal and each of their pectoral fins they have venomous spines to protect them from predators. Once mature, the venom can be fatal to humans! See more

18.01.2022 It's almost that time of the week again - NUDE WEDNESDAY - invented to publicise the existence of: Adrian Gilbert Art Studio/Gallery will be open this coming we...ekend (Sat 28th Nov. & Sun 29th Nov.) from 10.30 to 4.30 - cnr. of Easter & Holmes Sts, Leura, Blue Mountains, NSW Australia. Casual visitors are welcome - however, it's always a good idea to check out my work online at www.adriangilbertart.com, then ring and make arrangements to see a selection of paintings and drawings at an agreed time/place. So - just another little pen & ink life sketch for this week. Traditional life modelling and drawing used to be based in classical poses - but these days classical poses are rarely called for. Indeed, I think it's enough to capture something as candid and human as boredom. I'm not sure whether this piece is A3 or A4 size. I'll have to check
