25.01.2022 Similar to previous advice from the government this doesn't apply to Early Childhood or OSHC services at this time as they are deemed controlled settings. However as of 11.59pm on Wednesday 22nd July, this does apply to getting to and from your service.

Members of this network will generate research ideas, take part in projects and ultimately contribute to better early learning experiences and policies for young Australian children. 18.01.2022 The Victorian government has extended its reduced-fee kindergarten program for community-based, local government and school providers that are not covered by Jo...bKeeper. Families will receive $230 per child to cover part of the cost of their Term 3 fees. To boost cleaning and hygiene practices another round of cleaning grants will also be avaible for 'early childhood services delivering a funded kinder program.' 06.01.2022 Yesterday the Victorian Government announced a return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions for some Victorian postcodes in response to increased coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission. All ECEC services in restricted postcodes should continue to operate, except where there is a confirmed case of a child or staff member with coronavirus (COVID-19). Children and staff who live outside the restricted postcode area can continue to attend services within the restricted postcodes. Similarly, children and staff who live in a restricted postcode can continue to attend services outside the restricted postcodes.

05.01.2022 The Victorian Government has announced some additional support measures to ensure kindergarten in Victoria will be free for Term 3, and children will be supported to learn from home. This means: 1. Children of permitted workers can attend free kindergarten sessions across the state for the remainder of Term 3 (until September). 2. 02.01.2022 The Victorian Department of Education and Training has issued the following information about face coverings for ECEC services in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire: 1. It is not mandatory for teachers and educators in ECEC services, including kindergartens, to wear a mask while working with children. 2. Staff are required to wear face coverings when not working with children in other areas of the service eg: reception areas, staff rooms and foyers. ... 3. Face coverings should never be placed on children aged under two. 4. A person who has a medical condition - including problems with their breathing, a serious skin condition on their face, a disability or a mental health condition - is not required to wear a mask.
