22.01.2022 Last night we held a training session about vehicle fires. It was a great night as we were able to teach our new members about how a vehicle fire works, hazards to look out for and how to extinguish the fire. It was also great to be able to use our brand new torches that we were able to purchase thanks to the amazing donations we received from the ‘Echunga Community Association’ and the ‘Jupiter Creek Pony Club’.

21.01.2022 Unfortunately we can’t turn the clocks forward two months, so you’re just going to have to slog out the rest of 2020. But one less thing you’ll need to worry a...bout is your smoke alarm working if, while you’ve got the ladder out (and using it safely), you change the batteries in your smoke alarm and give it quick test. This will allow callers to Triple Zero (000) to use three key words to help communicate their location in areas or situations where this may be difficult. The Emergency+ app is free and available on iOS and Android devices through the Google Play and Apple stores. See more

11.01.2022 Media and the public are advised that TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for 15 November 2020 in the following Fire Ban Districts: Northwest Pastoral - Severe N...ortheast Pastoral - Severe Eastern Eyre Peninsula - Severe Flinders - Extreme Mid North - Extreme Mount Lofty Ranges - Severe Yorke Peninsula - Severe Riverland - Severe Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. 02.01.2022 We would like to thank the Echunga General Store for providing the Brigade with catering on Monday evening! We enjoyed a night off from our usual training schedule and got together for a bit of a low key social night, complete with burgers! We train & respond to incidents together, but for many of us, the Brigade is like an extended family... so spending time with each other like this allows us to be a stronger team and be better equipped to serve the community to the best o...f our ability. Thank you!

01.01.2022 I would just like to thank everyone from Echunga CFS and Echunga Community Association that helped this morning with the working bee at Echunga CFS station. Also thank you to those that couldn’t make it but put their time in behind the scenes on multiple other occasions. It was certainly good to have both community groups come together to help each other out and build a better stronger community. Thank you Echunga CFS Captain.
