22.01.2022 MARIONLIFE HUNGER WALK THANK YOU! Thank you for your involvement in the 3rd Annual MarionLIFE Hunger Walk! We thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with you. W...e had a fantastic time on Saturday 2 November with 118 people joining us for the 4km walk along the Sturt River to raise awareness about those experiencing hunger and raise money to support MarionLIFEs work supporting individuals and families in need. You helped us raise enough to cover the cost of 60 overnight food packs for people seeking Emergency Relief in a time of crisis thank you!! In the last 12 months our Emergency Relief Service assisted over 2,000 people within Southern Adelaide. Having you take part in the MarionLIFE Hunger Walk means we can continue this work of meeting basic human needs. The reasons people seek assistance include unemployment, domestic violence, homelessness, mental health issues, family breakdowns, sickness and increased costs of living expenses. We also believe a persons ongoing involvement in the community beyond crisis is important to rebuild confidence and develop lasting community relationships and supports. This is why MarionLIFE offers a variety of support groups, a community garden, community meals, financial counselling, health and wellbeing support and skill-building courses on top of food relief and material assistance. If you have any photos wed love to see them; tag us on social media or email to [email protected].
