22.01.2022 Elphin Sports Centre now has an AED installed in each building. Previously we only had one in the main foyer but thanks to Ambulance Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government we have secured a second AED which has been placed in the Foyer near Court 2 & Table Tennis. Let’s hope they don’t need to be used!

19.01.2022 Launceston Basketball Association met with members of the Elphin Sports Centre Board of Directors on the 19th June to discuss our hire agreement with them, in p...articular continuing issues with weather impacting our competitions. Elphin Sports Centre have advised us that limited government funding has been secured, and that roof repairs will be attempted during Summer 2019/2020. This is great news for LBA, and hopefully reduces the impact of weather events on our competition in 2020. See more

04.01.2022 Update Regarding Casual Use With our reopening this coming Monday the 6th of July at 10am, there will be some slight adjustments for causal users. Causal use remains from Monday to Thursday between 10am and 3:30pm, and on Fridays from 10am to 12:30pm, when available.... All causal users will be required to report to the main office to a staff member and then sign in. Also all users will be required to follow all signage placed up and requirements outlined in the Elphin Sports Centre COVID-19 Safety Plan & Guidelines (www.elphinsportscentre.org.au/covid-19) Cost for Casual use remains at $5 per person per hour, and while in the past we have been lenient around length of time, with the potential for many people wanting to make use of our reopening, we may have to ask people to leave after their hour or pay an additional $5 for a second hour due to physical distancing requirements. Payment is preferred by contactless payment (PayWave etc.) but we will still accept cash payments for causal use, and payments must be made prior to session to an Elphin Sports Centre Staff member. It is also recommended that casual users bring their own alcohol-based wipes and hand sanitiser to use to clean their equipment and hands during their session. However, Elphin Sports Centre will have hand sanitiser stations at the entry/exit points to the stadium. We ask all casual users to be respectful of others during their use so we can all enjoy being back on the courts.
