16.01.2022 As part of the Castlemaine State Festival, we have Michael Sollis bringing us a series of four workshops this week. The students are gathering their ideas and experimenting with sounds to compose and record a piece of music that will be played at 'One Sky, Many Stories' during the Festival.

16.01.2022 NAIDOC Week began this morning with a live smoking ceremony and welcome to country. We also went on a virtual tour of The Shrine of Remembrance.

16.01.2022 The raffle was drawn on Friday by our surprise visitor. Thanks for coming Ebony! The hamper was won by the Gardner family and the gingerbread house by S. Munro. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the hamper and bought a raffle ticket. A huge thank you to Grist Wesley Hill, Castlemaine for another beautiful gingerbread house.

15.01.2022 This morning the Prep-2's had a virtual Teddy Bears' Picnic. There was no food, but lots of sharing about why their teddies are special.

13.01.2022 It's Fun Friday! The week is finishing off with some Halloween costumes and a dance party.

11.01.2022 The Discovery Centre in Bendigo is offering small schools some online Science lessons for the P-2 and 3-6 students. We are very excited to take up this opportunity. We will be conducting experiments from the topics of 'Flight School', 'Electricity', 'Wet and Wild', 'Toy Science' and 'Slime'.

10.01.2022 There were two activity options today. One group visited the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, while the other group went bike riding. Students got to explore the gardens with a scavenger hunt, drawing activities, the story walk and a play at the playground.

Bring your order forms with the correct money into school or drop them into Gill and Dave at the Elphinstone General Store. Sorry, no late orders can be accepted. Orders can be collected from school on Monday 29th of March between 3-3.30pm.

04.01.2022 We marked the end of NAIDOC week with a planting of local and native bushfoods. Thank you to local Elder, Aunty Julie McHale who provided the plants that are suitable for our climate. These included Murrnong (Yam Daisy), Geraldton Wax, Saltbush, Muntries and Native Mint. We're looking forward to harvesting, preparing and tasting these crops in the new year.

04.01.2022 The school year officially ended with the traditional final bell ringing by our Grade Six students.

02.01.2022 Welcome back to the Prep-2's this week! They got to take part in a Smoking Ceremony for Reconciliation Week. It was lead by Dja Dja Wurrung Elder, Uncle Rick Nelson via Zoom. Thanks to Sam for your preparations at the school.

02.01.2022 The Prep-2's enjoyed 'Zoo Day' during their final week of Remote Learning. It included some virtual Zoo tours and animal activities. The week ended with the Fun Friday Dance Party! There were some very groovy moves and fancy outfits. Wishing everyone a happy and safe school holiday! We are really looking forward to seeing everyone again on Monday October the 5th.

01.01.2022 Ride to School Day 2021. Even horses made the trek this year! Everyone met at the Sawpit Gully Playground and travelled to school together by either hooves, wheels or feet.
