24.01.2022 Beautiful Joey, just wants to be cuddled, tiny wombat and lovely new house/paddock on the hill for the bigger joeys.

23.01.2022 Gotta love the variety of wildlife

22.01.2022 We sure raised a sweat today caring for our adorable wildlife, the humid weather doesn’t stop us from enjoying the babies.

21.01.2022 Pikachu, our full time resident, is now such a happy and friendly possum.

19.01.2022 I wonder if I had head lice this morning.

17.01.2022 Happy #wombatwednesday

15.01.2022 This little sugar glider today...

13.01.2022 Some of the beautiful feathered creatures that we get to enjoy, they love human intervention too.

12.01.2022 A special shout out with much gratitude to Dr Tian from Waverley Animal Hospital and Dr Robin Stanley from Animal Eye Care for their help with this fledgling Powerful Owl. This beauty sustained permanently blindness in one eye due to trauma in the wild. Unfortunately due to her injury, her ability to hunt has been effected and therefore she cannot be re-released. She has now been relocated in to permanent care where she will be spoilt with all the best owl treats by the wonderful staff at Healesville Sanctuary.

11.01.2022 Since moving into the newly built aviary, this corella (that I avoided constantly) has had a change of personality. Now a happy chappy.

11.01.2022 Anyone travel from Healesville through Monbulk area that could grab old newspapers from the local paper office and drop off to the shelter, running low with so many babies needing clean pens.

10.01.2022 A sneaky peep at a shy possum named Pikachu

08.01.2022 Hello woodworkers. Due to the high influx of possums to our shelter, we are really in need of possum boxes again. If anyone has any made, or is able to put together some, it would be much appreciated . Thank you again.

07.01.2022 URGENT - we are in desperate need for newspapers. If you live in the area and are able to drop off to Oaktree Drive, off Willis, our animals would love clean cages. Thank you

06.01.2022 If you have upgraded to a cleaning system that has left you with floor cleaner and disinfectant that you no longer use, you can donate to the shelter. We use heaps to clean up after the animals and always in short supply. Can drop off at the shelter or Avonsleigh. Thanks for any donations you can make.

06.01.2022 AIR BNB for the royal couple, Kate and William are in residence.

05.01.2022 Peek-a-boo Pikachu - very shy but will pop his head out for rose petals

04.01.2022 Clean water makes for bath time

02.01.2022 Kaye took this fabulous video of bold and brave Pikachu, happily munching out of his veggie bowl. So adorable.

01.01.2022 D-Day for the Kinley mob at Lilydale Today could be d-day for the small mob of kangaroos living on the Kinley Estate at Lilydale. The final decision - cull or r...elocate - is expected today. If ever there was a time you can help these kangaroos, that time is now. Please send courteous emails to: [email protected] [email protected] requesting their support for relocation of the Kinley roos. Remember, relocation is always an option despite government misinformation on the topic. We have multiple successful case studies. A humane cull is not possible with a social mob animal like kangaroos with joeys at foot and in pouches. If the Minister and DELWP give the cull decision, the result will be a cruel and distressing slaughter of these gentle, iconic animals. Please take a little time to help us today. Note: the owner and developer are planning to spend up to $100M to infill the existing quarry site, where Andy Meddick (AJP) has organised a team of skilled wildlife people who will give their time to a relocation out of compassion. This shows the horrible tilt away from nature in our society, where we have reduced everything to a dollar value. In this particular case, the cheapest way to handle the kangaroos is with a $1 bullet for each one. Image: Ray Drew, one of the most beautiful images of a joey and her mother that we have ever seen.
