14.01.2022 Hello Esperance, I have a few slots available for teaching flute over Term 3. Happy for mature age or young un's :) I have played for 15+ years and completed to... AMEB grade 7 and prepared for 8, playing with various orchestra's and concert bands in Albany and Perth. Ideally, I'd be looking for beginners to intermediate (~up to AMEB Grade 5). Happy to have a chat with anyone interested and work out arrangements. Please flick me a message for more information See more

11.01.2022 ESPERANCE MUSIC FESTIVAL UPDATE The Esperance Music Festival Committee has very sadly made the difficult decision, in light of the evolving Government and Health directives regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, to CANCEL the 2020 Esperance Music Festival. At this stage, we are happy to advise that the AMEB music examinations are still scheduled to go ahead in August.... If the pandemic has died down sufficiently for Government directives to have been lifted later in the year, there is the chance that a music event could be held in Term 4 to allow music students to showcase the pieces that they have practised this year. There will be updates on this in Term 3. To end on a light note, this is a wonderful opportunity to hone your musical skills while practising your social distancing or isolation! The Esperance Music Festival Committee looks forward to hearing the results of this!

11.01.2022 Reposting our compiled list of private Music Teachers

07.01.2022 We bid farewell to a most popular Committee member yesterday. We’ve loved having Timothy Holland in our team for the past 3 years and wish him all the best in Perth. We celebrated with some of our current committee with an afternoon tea on Castletown Quays.

02.01.2022 The Esperance Music Festival Committee members farewelled Emma Starcevich, at their end of year windup luncheon recently. Emma is preparing to embark on a new chapter of her life, moving to another farming community to teach and take up married life. She will be sorely missed as a local private music teacher, music educator in schools and performer in many musical productions in the region. The Esperance community is so fortunate to have had Emma’s amazing talent and voluntar...y endeavour. Emma has been a participant in the Esperance Music Festival since the age of 10, performing, accompanying and organising behind the scenes. The Festival will miss her beautiful musicianship and are particularly thankful of Emma’s assistance in securing a room for Festival meetings, after the Cannery evicted the Esperance Music Festival from their premises of more than 30 years. Thanks to volunteers like Emma, the Esperance Music Festival continues to provide a huge service to our community in the development of musicianship. Growing annually, attracting interest from professional musicians throughout Australia and participants from the whole region, the fun continues. The volunteer committee take a well earned rest after Christmas, and then welcome new volunteers to share their time and prepare for the next terrific festival, in August, 2020. See more

02.01.2022 Hi there, Do your kids, or you and your friends, love performing in the music festival? Well, like all other activities, there has to be a team of volunteers who make it happen. The current committee members are very mindful of succession planning so we’re appealing to all concerned to consider joining the festival committee.... The workload is from February when we start planning, and getting the wheels rolling, to September when we review the event. Obviously, the 3 days and 2 nights the festival is actually on is the culmination of all that preparation however the workload is shared by a dedicated band (pardon the pun) of helpers who ensure the event runs smoothly and is a positive experience for all participants. The people who already contribute in whatever way to the festival are greatly appreciated. We just need some more people to come on board, learn the ropes and hopefully feel more comfortable about taking on a committee role. The Annual General Meeting will be held Monday 8 March 2021 at 7pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Foy Street. Esperance Music Festival Committee Inc [email protected] 18 February 2021
