23.01.2022 Today is the International Day of Peace - Your Peace, Our Peace, World Peace. We can celebrate this day by spreading compassion, kindness and hope. Peace is all. It is always here within you and all around you, a stillness, a seeming nothingness, out of which everything arises, exists, and eventually returns. You know this. You feel this. There is nothing more than this. You are this. Swami Satchidananda

20.01.2022 A real joy yesterday to connect with our senior teachers and Swamis live from the USA. Thank you to all who joined, especially those from Integral Yoga Centre Melbourne and IYI New York and San Francisco. OM

20.01.2022 The lotus flower hand dance. The lotus flower starts its day in bud. As the sun comes up its petals begin to open... By midday its face is fully open to the sun. It draws the suns goodness down into its roots. A gentle breeze blows it one way, and then the other No matter how hard the wind blows The little flower always regains its strength and poise Tiny fish swim about its roots, And insects hover overhead, Looking down at the beautiful flower Small colourful birds are all around. They sometimes come to rest on the flower. As evening approaches, The little flower draws the day’s goodness into its petals, seals it in, Before resting for the night. See more

19.01.2022 Helen is a front-line health worker and daily places herself and her family at risk during Covid. Yet no one would know this. A recent comment by Helen was, 'I feel ready for anything including not making it through. My main concerns are for others rather than myself.' Helen started coming some 8 years ago, introduced by a mutual friend. Since then she has embraced all the practices of yoga, not just the physical. Her keen mind and intellect invite her to integrate these pra...ctices into her day. One of her more challenging commitments is her daily meditation practice. Clients like Helen are the people who inspire me to keep doing what I do. Join me and other fellow students for continued support online during Covid.

13.01.2022 Yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind. Yes truly! It is not doing a 100 physical jerks on a yoga mat or putting your foot behind your ear.... In the classical yoga text, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the definition of yoga is clear. Yoga is the stilling of the mind until it rests in a state of total and utter tranquillity, so that one experiences life and the Self just as it is.

11.01.2022 It is easy to accept beautiful sunsets, golden prizes, and romantic dreams. It is the challenges that are hard to accept It is so important to appreciate the peace that comes from giving up the fight with the way things are (that's us Melbourne!) You do what you can, which is sometimes nothing at all, whilst being very real with what is actually true. Come on Melbourne, we can do this!... Adapted from teachings of Rick Hanson See more

10.01.2022 The people I see, the places they go. Rest assured, the people that come to Experience Yoga are the everyday person like you and me. They have busy, demanding lives, just like you. They are dealing with complex life issues, just like you. Whatever the day brings, on their good days and bad, despite aches and pains, they come. ... They are the person who understands the need to show up. They are doctors, mums, healthcare workers, small business owners, retirees. Their ‘yoga’ journey has taken them on life changing hikes, remote holidays, even an ashram visit! You can read more about some of my clients on my website (Kind words). You may hear a story that resembles some part of your life, you may connect with their story. If you are curious to meet our community and learn about yoga beyond a bendy body and bliss-filled mind, join in. Practices I teach will benefit your immunity, brain function, sleep, as well as your movement, balance and stamina. Be bold, contact me! See more
