25.01.2022 A wonderful local opportunity for families

25.01.2022 It’s been a bit of a drizzly morning at Faith Kindy but we still had a lovely coffee catch-up with some of the end of week families. It’s great to see parents having the opportunity to connect with each other while enjoying a coffee and a snack.

25.01.2022 88 letters went in the post Wednesday to welcome our class of 2020 to Faith Kindy ... and started to reach their letterboxes yesterday.

24.01.2022 We had some lovely young visitors today....checking out where it all started, as they finish their final year of school this week! It was wonderful to hear what they remembered about Kindy and where their journey is leading them in the future. School Captain, Bec Wright, enjoyed two years with us as our first Kindergarten child to be enrolled! Our very first year offered two programs - Kindy (3-4year olds) and Preschool (4-5 year olds), prior to Prep being introduced in 2007 and Kindy changing to being Pre-Prep only. Great trip down memory lane for Miss Naomi and Miss Lyn! Thanks so much for the visit!!

23.01.2022 At Faith Kindy today the children engaged in some Easter celebration activities. They had the opportunity to do various Easter art and craft and learnt about the religious significance of Easter. Miss Cath talked to the children about Palm Sunday and how this is the celebration of when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem. She then made some unleavened bread with them. This is a flatbread, known as Matzah in the Jewish community, which was traditionally cooked during times when the people needed to make something quick and lasting.

21.01.2022 Due to the wet weather, today we created an obstacle course on the veranda. At Faith Kindergarten we believe outdoor play is an essential part of children’s learning and development. On rainy days we have to be creative to allow the children to still have the opportunity to strengthen their gross motor skills. We utilised some of the tables, along with outdoor equipment, to construct a challenging course that involved the children going over, under, through and across obstacles.

21.01.2022 Messy Play at Faith Kindy today to celebrate the end of a wonderful year of learning!

17.01.2022 Today at Faith Kindy we celebrated Harmony Day. One of our amazing father’s, Phillipe, joined us to share his Columbian background. He read a children’s story to us in Spanish and also showed us some different things from Columbia, including the flag. Along with his wife Claire, Phillipe showed us how to do some Latin dancing to Spanish music. We all joined in for a dance as well. It was lots of fun.

16.01.2022 Learning about ANZAC Day at Faith kindy included making a poppy for each member of our family. This incorporated numeracy, literacy and fine motor skill development. Reading stories, participating in discussion and baking Anzac bikkies also helped to build children’s understanding of ANZAC Day.

15.01.2022 Did you know you can access the library via an app? What a great way to engage in some relaxing reading over the Easter Holidays.

14.01.2022 Faith Kindy’s Christmas Craft Stall is almost ready. Next week teachers will be helping the children make informed & thoughtful purchases for their list of family members. So many wonderful learning opportunities in this exercise. All items lovingly handmade by the staff and families of Faith Kindy.

14.01.2022 Miss Cath and Miss Tori, two of our amazing Educators, presented their very own published storybook Gifts to the Kindy children. Previously we had seen the big pictures that illustrator Victoria Carlsund (aka Miss Tori) had drawn for the story and heard the words of the story from author Cath La Rosa (aka Miss Cath). Now the storybook has become a reality for us all! How very exciting that we have a published author and illustrator working among us!

13.01.2022 At Faith Kindy we all love wet, messy play in the warm weather! Even the teachers enjoy being part of the action! The end of year tradition sees us all going home multi-coloured after being hit by water paint spray bottles or from sliding on the coloured slime slide or sitting in the coloured pool water! These days provide some fabulous sensory fun which offers positive benefits to learning in a variety of areas. Hence we try to incorporate sensory play often throughout the y...ear in big ways (like this photo) or smaller ways such as table top sensory containers for use with hands or on the floor to feel with our feet. Our program offers extensive learning opportunities with experienced early childhood teachers and assistants. We are fortunate to have such a passionate team who are dedicated to providing a wonderfully play based education for young children. See more

12.01.2022 This beautiful girl was captured as she was running along Link Rd. She’s been taken to Koala Park Vet Surgery for safe keeping at present. The children were all very keen to observe and learn about helping this pooch - she was very stressed and dirty and seemed to have been on the run for a while. Please share. ... Hope she’s reunited with her family soon! See more

12.01.2022 Today was a very special Wacky Wednesday! Not only did we have a visit from Mr David Hartshorn who played some live music for us to dance to, but Miss Cath and Miss Tori presented their ‘about to be published’ story book! We then followed the story topic by exploring the gifts that God gave us and displaying these in our amazing drawings. We look forward to sharing more about this special story in the near future!

12.01.2022 Update: Looks like this lovable fellow has been found. Thanks for all the shares!! One of our friend’s at Faith Kindy has a missing dog. If you come across this very friendly pooch, please message us, so we can help reunite the family. Last seen on their property Double Jump Rd, Redland Bay. Thank you

12.01.2022 Spring has arrived at Kindy and we are busy preparing our gardens for planting. The children were delighted with the dirt pile that appeared on the grass. Some enjoyed running up and down it, while others found satisfaction in digging, filling wheelbarrows and emptying them into garden beds.

12.01.2022 After finding a bug playing around our obstacle course and trying to cover it with a leaf house , we decided a "bug hotel' would provide a good shelter for it and its mates. We gathered materials and set about creating our hanging bug hotel. The hanging hotel provides a talking point about nature, habitats and caring for small creatures in our world.

11.01.2022 Phillipe and Claire’s visit today for Harmony Day.

10.01.2022 The oval at Faith Lutheran College was a hive of activity today to celebrate Under 8’s day. The kindy children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and arrived back at kindy buzzing with excitement about their favourite activities. The HUGE inflatable obstacle was definitely a highlight of the event! Although the bird kites were also a hit, with the children bringing them back to fly at kindy. A big thank you to all the staff and students who put this wonderful event together and supported the kindy children to participate!

09.01.2022 Such a special + nostalgic day at Faith Kindy today

08.01.2022 A big dinosaur came to our playground and started eating the rocks out of the ground on Thursday!!! This is the start of our playground renovations. There’s a bit of mess being made at the moment. But very soon there will be a whole new, AWESOME play space to inspire and challenge us. The new fort will provide us with fantastic physical development opportunities to enhance our obstacle courses, while the new gardens will provide experiences with growing and caring for our environment. Check out the progress as you swing past. We’ll also post some photo updates. Looking forward to completion in January ready for the start of Kindy .

07.01.2022 Thirteen years of children have concluded their year at Faith Kindy with some version of a Christmas Concert. The nativity has been the main feature of our concert most years with many days of practise put into preparing for the performance. The nativity, some favourite songs/dances from the year and some new ones just for Christmas are chosen with the children and practised with the hope that they will be confident in front of a large audience on the big day! The children ha...ve always done themselves proud showing their parents what they are capable of. As teachers, we are always proud and constantly amazed at what occurs on these days - the children continue to surprise us each year! Have a safe and very Merry Christmas. We still have some vacancies for 2019, so please inform anyone who has a Kindy aged child, that they still have the opportunity to be part of our fantastic program!

07.01.2022 A new year of Kindy has started with our first group of children today. The story we read was about change, challenge and resilience- all of the things we encounter and build on in our lives on a daily basis. The children were provided with their own tasty surprise at lunchtime - just like the story!! We will be commencing the enrolment process for 2021 this term, so be sure to get your waiting list form in if you have a child due to start Kindy in 2021.

06.01.2022 We Redland Bay Men’s Shed. So grateful for this partnership!

06.01.2022 Another fantastic day of learning at Faith Kindy! So lucky that our Kindy is situated on grounds that provide us with so many learning opportunities in nature. 06.01.2022 Fantastic News! As a fundraiser for the Kindy, we now have some copies of Miss Cath and Miss Tori’s beautiful book available for purchase for $15. Come and see us at the office between Mon - Wed to purchase your copy.

05.01.2022 Our wonderful team at Faith Kindy are making sure our families have lots of activity ideas for home, whether it be for now or during the break. After receiving the email from Kindy today, one of our families used ideas from our Shapes topic and did a treasure hunt for shapes in the house, followed by a dance and song with our Kindy teachers (with Mr L using a bread board as his rectangle shape ). He was so amazed to see his teachers singing + dancing on the tv! Great to see our Faith Kindy family staying connected and having fun with learning, even in their own lounge room .

04.01.2022 Faith Kindy staff celebrated the years end in perfect Kindy style....painting!
