23.01.2022 MEET THE PERFORMER: Emerick Kovacs Emerick has had a great love of singing for as long as he can remember. As a ten-year-old, he was very fortunate to sing in the chorus of The Australian Opera in brief seasons of 2 well-known Italian operas (although at the time he had no idea as to just how special that was!!). School plays and musical performances also form fond early memories. In the early 1990s, Emerick began singing lessons with the Lindeman Voice Studio, as part of a f...ateful invitation to sing at a friends wedding. This reignited his passion for song and for performance. Emerick has had voice training, on and off, since then and has sung at weddings and in a variety of operatic and musical society productions and concerts. After a long period of abstinence from singing Emerick was very pleased to join Song Mystique and intends to pursue his love of singing with much-renewed vigour into the future. 'Cameos of Song and Dance' is on in Manly 27th and 28th July; get your tickets from: https://www.trybooking.com/BDVXD

22.01.2022 Vale Greg Howard (1937-2019) - one of our most loved FAMS members. Greg cheerfully helped at fundraiser BBQs, and at any time there was work to be done before and after a show. His strong bass voice was there in many a chorus, and his warm smile lit up the room. He was kindly, reliable, and just a general delight of a human being. He will be sadly missed. His lovely service at St Rose, Collaroy, was attended today by Judith, Lisa and Arthur, who heard beautiful tributes by his loving family. Our compassion is with them especially at this time <3
