18.01.2022 A little motivational quoting for myself today. I'm someone who is all or nothing... while also being a chronic impatient planner. I want things to happen NOW! However, parenthood and learning massage are really slowing me down and teaching me to chip away, take one step at a time. Untill you look back, and you've living the path you have been dreaming. #onestepatatime #accumulativeeffect #remedialmassagenewcastle #wallsendnsw #newcastlefitness #newcastlebusiness #newventure #newcastlehealth #elermorevalemums #feelbetermassage

17.01.2022 It's no coincidence touch feels good. It also DOES you good. It all starts with the skin, our largest organ, covering about 20 square feet, which is about the size of a twin mattress. If somebody touches you, there's pressure pushing on your skin at the point of contact. And just under the skin are pressure receptors called "Pacinian corpuscles," says Tiffany Field, one of the world's leading touch researchers and the director of the Touch Research Institute at the University... of Miami in Florida. They receive pressure stimulation," Field says, "and the pressure receptors send a signal to the brain." The Pacinian corpuscles' signals go directly to an important nerve bundle deep in the brain called the vagus nerve. it's the vagus nerve that then slows the heart down and decreases blood pressure. Even a touch of the hand or simple hug lights up the orbital frontal cortex of your brain, releasing oxytocin into our systems. It is the same are which responds to sweet tastes and pleasing smells. When you get a hug, or even better, a massage, this stress-busting nuropeptide slows heart rate and lowers blood pressure.

12.01.2022 Well, we have all succumbed to winter colds. Thank you for understanding the cancellation of your appointment as we hibernate at home and eat soup! Also, I am going back to work from maternity leave (argh!). This means reduced ability to practice massage (and reduced appointment times). ... I have decided to limit appointments to Monday or Wednesday evenings. When I have completed my cert 1V (in two months), I will start asking for a donation for massages ( or pro-gratis services!) Thank you for all support in my career-change and being my practice subjects, if you want to support me further, please give me some feedback about the massage or tell a friend! Word of mouth is the best commendation you can give! :). Thanks again. X Nat **photo from when we were not sick ;)

10.01.2022 I've found starting to practice massage, it's not just the clients who are getting the benefit. It's also me. The chance to stop, be present and aware in my body. To feel how someone else is feeling and help them be present in their body. I have always held tension and say, ' oh I badly need a massage but I need to ...' and end up puttting everyone's needs before my own. I truly belive massage supports mindfulness... and healthier and happier life. Not just my client's ;).

03.01.2022 Hey everyone! Thought I would introduce myself. I'm Nat and I'm studying my diploma of remedial massage therapy. After 11 years working in corporate communications and marketing, I have decided to shake my career up and pursue something I love. Making people feel better. I have two kids, Will who's almost 4 and Thea who is 8 months! Eventually I want to go back to uni and become an Occupational Therapist, but for now, I'm excited to start working with people and supporting t...heir health! Can't wait to meet you all and help you relax! Nat.

03.01.2022 Sometimes, having a busy life leaves you feeling like you've lost a little of 'you' along the way. Maybe you're lost in a haze of being little people's snack slave OR it's starting to feel like all you do is work and sleep. We all feel harried, frazzled and left missing who we once were. Massage is a great way to be present in your own body and take some time out for yourself to recharge... so you can go back to caring for others or working at your peak. Book in a massage. Y...es, that is me and my kids in case you were wondering! #snackbitch #mummyduties #newcastlenswaustralia #remedialmassage #newcastlemassagetherapist #studyingmassage #dipremedialmassage #careerchange #newcastlenswsports #newcastlemums #huntermums #wallsendbusiness #wallsendmums #elermorevalemums
