12.01.2022 Watch Live: the most important State Budget in a generation.

09.01.2022 Euthanasia is an emotional issue for everyone involved in this incredibly important debate. I believe all in this discussion are motivated by love and goodwill. Here's my op-ed over the summer: https://www.theadvocate.com.au//emotional-and-incredibly/ Aged Care Royal Commissioner, Richard Tracey, said Australia's aged care system "does not deliver uniformly safe and quality care for older people. It is unkind and uncaring towards them. In too many instances, it simply negl...ects them." If we cannot yet create a system that cares which is free from abuse, I cannot see how we can create a system that kills which is free from abuse. If you take nothing more from my contribution to this discussion in Parliament, then let it be the words of writer and disability advocate Stella Young: "Before we can talk about death with dignity, we need to ensure that all people, regardless of age or disability, can live with dignity. We're not there yet." Pic: HOPE - Preventing Euthanasia & Assisted Suicide
