24.01.2022 This lovely bride bought her dress to me recently. It originally had a narrow lace strap. Janessa is lovely and tall so to get a nice fit I added lace into the strap to lengthen the bodice and with fabric ordered with the gown we added a small sleeve to the gown. 23.01.2022 While I wait for local brides to start booking fittings again I thought I’d let everyone know I’m still available for general alterations. I thought I’d share a few pics of a suit coat sleeve take up. They are a little tricky to do and take some time. 17.01.2022 Good to see some weddings still going ahead. I’m currently working on taking up a beautiful lace gown. This one has lace appliqué over a scallop edge which requires unpicking both, realigning motifs and hand sewing all back on.

12.01.2022 A lovely bride bought me her plain ivory lace dress recently. She was having a black, red and white themed wedding and we set about adding black lace to her gown. After a consult and engaging my friend to purchase some fabric from a store in Penrith, as we couldn't get any here I began the appliqué work. I enjoyed the challenge and Kathryn loved the finished gown. Thought I'd share the process.

12.01.2022 One of the things I enjoy doing is ad ons to gowns. Extra lace can often be ordered with the gown purchase to make cap sleeves or as shown also three quarter sleeves. I like jigsaw puzzles and have a good eye for detail which makes working with lace fun. I was able to help these lovely brides in making modifications to their gowns.

11.01.2022 After a mini busy time during October Covid strikes again! My dress rack is usually full this time of year so this shows how many weddings have been cancelled or postponed. I’m thinking next year is going to be super busy! While I wait for brides to start booking in their alterations again I’m working on Veil orders for Belles and Beaux in Newcastle. Good to hear the girls there are still selling lots of gowns. I’m available for general alterations also so if that new Summer maxi dress is too long I can help.

10.01.2022 One task I’m often asked to do is change a dress from a zip to lace up back. Thought I’d share some photos of my work process. When you receive a quote for any alterations from me included is the initial fitting time and final try on time. If any fabric is required I do the shopping and selection of fabric etc as most clients don’t know much about fabric and appreciate this. Also included is thread, interfacing, boning, zips etc. My 30 years experience in this field guarantees a professional finish every time. Alterations to fitted gowns are going ahead as planned and I’m still available for fittings be it bridal or general alterations needed.
