23.01.2022 We wanted to make sure everyone knows there is a national 24/7 Coronavirus Health Information Line - 1800 020 080 This hotline will be expanded to help triage people with respiratory systems and those who are concerned about contact with possible Covid-19 cases. This means if you are experiencing symptoms you are able to stay away from the general public and not pass on cold, flu or possible Covid-19.

21.01.2022 Government funded Flu Vaccines now available for our patients who are: * Children aged 6months to under 5 yrs * Pregnant women * Aged 65 year or older * Aged 6 months or older with eligible chronic health conditions... * Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients aged 6 months or older Please call our reception on 0265841000 to book a Flu Clinic appointment.

20.01.2022 UPDATE: Things are changing on a daily basis, to stay in-front of the curve we are implementing new procedures: ** As of tomorrow we are asking ALL patients to call us BEFORE entering our practice. ** We are limiting the amount of people in waiting rooms - we will be asking patients to wait in their car. Patients who arrive by other means are able to use waiting room, however there is limited seating due to distancing requirements - please phone before arrival. ** A reminder... for patients to keep a 1.5m distance from other's while in the practice (unless otherwise instructed) Please remember that although the measures we are putting in place may feel inconvenient we are implementing them to protect you, our staff and GPs. Lastly, thank you to all our patients for their patience during this transition period.

19.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE: We are asking patients to please call us if they are experiencing Cold/Flu symptoms (fever, sore throat, coughing, hard to breathe) BEFORE coming into Five Star Medical, this includes visitors and patients who have a previously booked appointment. Phone: 65841000. Please note that due to current work load we do not offer walk-in appointments. Please phone before attending practice.... We are expecting Flu Vaccines to be available at the end of April. We will be letting patients know via SMS (if you haven't already signed up for SMS service and would like too, please speak with reception) and will also a pop a post up.

07.01.2022 To help protect vulnerable groups our Doctors are now able to provide consults via phone, skype or facetime instead of you having to come face-to-face. This will help limit your exposure to germs and virus'. You will still be able to request scripts and referrals during appointment. Patients eligible for BULK BILLED phone or video consult * Patients who have chronic health conditions or is immune compromised * Patients over 70yrs and over... * Patients who are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and 50yrs and over * Patients who have been required to self-isolate * Patients who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 virus but who is not a patient of a hospital * Patients who are pregnant * Patients who are a parent of a child under 12 months *Patient meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection There are options for those who do not fit above criteria, please call us for details, 65841000 Our preference is to provide a video consult via skype.
