14.01.2022 Forsight Gallery’s Final Exhibition A Vibrant Gathering An Exhibition by Ellie Hannon... Forsight Gallery is closing its doors as the monumental mid 19C building at the corner of bull and Union Street’s Cooks Hill will be auctioned on site at 11am, 16 July. Forsight Gallery has provided a relaxed and professional environment where both established and emerging artists have exhibited since 2005. All are welcome to attend the concluding exhibition ‘A Vibrant Gathering,’ featuring recent works by Ellie Hannon, on Friday 15 July at 6pm. Hannon’s solo exhibition, ‘A Vibrant Gathering,’ celebrates the Australian wildflower season, and examines her affinity with nature through exploring memories, journeys, gathering, meeting and assembling. In this series of new works Hannon traverses the disciplines of painting, drawing, ceramics and installation, seeking a poetic relationship between combinations of elements and materials. Hannon juxtaposes elements and forms harvested from a variety of origins to communicate these concepts through aesthetic collections. Ellie returned to Newcastle in 2014 after 3 years of travelling in South East Asia and has since held a Solo show at the Corner store Gallery in Orange (2014), and a sold-out solo exhibition at Newcastle Art Space (2015). Ellie is currently the youngest studio artist housed at Newcastle Community Arts Centre and recently launched a new business featuring a range of ceramics Fellow by Ellie.
