13.01.2022 What inspires you? Do you ever have that feeling that you want to work for yourself? Or you feel like there is something else you're meant to be doing but just haven't found that bright idea yet? I used to be like that, I was waiting for that one big moment. And I will let you in on a secret, that big ah-ha moment was gradual. It started with a dog that was sensitive to many dog food brands. It then went to me making dog food for my little Frankie. I started making treats fo...r friends because their dogs loved them kangaroo snacks! And then sitting in a cafe realising that I hadn't brought my treats with me- it seems to easy but cafe treats was my bright idea. This transformed to become my company Frankley Pet Providore, aka Frankley. Sometimes those bright ideas can be really simple and can start small and slowly. My dog Frankie was sensitive to dog foods and we were cautious what we fed her. I was reading ingredient lists and searching for a more natural, paleo-style dog food. My dad, a farmer and owner of a sustainable kangaroo abattoir, gave Frankie kangaroo produce and she flourished. Thus, Frankley Pet Providore began. With the help of my sister, a graphic designer, Frankley became a reality. My family and I have always been great believers in quality produce, and we are extending those ideals to your family, right down to your four-legged fellow.

04.01.2022 Ahhh Frankie. ok, ok I know this is not the most attractive photo of my little mascot but it really did make me laugh out loud. That is the epitome of flight if I ever saw it, she will do anything to get that ball. Playing on the beach with Frankie is a common past time, whether it be playing fetch, swimming (sometimes she swims soooo far out to sea for such a small dog), digging holes while I read a book on the sand or going for a run (when its not raining and when I can d...rag myself from the computer). She is a super active dog. She is a cockalier (a cocker spaniel x cavalier) and I remember the vet saying, she is not going to be an active dog nor will she go for long runs with you. Well at the end of a 10km run, we get home, I am stretching and nearly passing out from lack of oxygen on the back deck and she is nudging the ball into my leg ready for fetch. She is an amazing companion and I feel super lucky to have her in my life. The best I can do for her is make sure she lives her best life, through exercise and a proper diet. Ive been giving Frank kangaroo for years and believe it is a superfood that has helped her maintain her stamina- even at 7 years of age. 03.01.2022 TRAINING TIPS FOR PUPPIES! Baby Billie the Border Collie! Meet Frankie's cousin, isn't she just adorable. . She is full of beans and loves chasing the waves that crash along the beach. For all those new owners that picked up their four-legged friend during COVID lockdown, it is critical to get that puppy training down pat in the early days. . Tips: ... 1. Keep training treats on you at all times, so that you can reward that good behaviour as soon as it occurs. Our @frankley roo ribbons are perfect for this. Use lots of praise and elevate to a higher note in your voice. 2. Whilst it might be cute when they jump up on your legs and you give them a pat on the head. Biology says THEY GET BIGGER! Make sure you're really careful not to #train your puppy to jump up for a pat. Instead, ignore them until they resume the right position for a pat. 3. It is crucial to be able to maintain their attention, in puppy span time. Use treats to teach them their name and call them by their name when wondering around the house. This will make recall so much easier! Most of all, give them so much love. They are in a new relationship too and need assurance for you that everything will be great

01.01.2022 My weekly coffee date with #Frankley followed by a walk on the #beach. She reacts to my facial expressions on the beach, especially when we play tag. I wonder if wearing a mask has impacted her #playtime with me? Now that she cannot see my face in full. Of course I will always wear a mask, but it does change the way we react to situations. I find it strange that I cannot see someone give me a smile on the dog beach, and I've taken to giving a wave so that they know I've said... hello. I also try to smile with my eyes, sometimes in an overly exaggerated way to show there is a smile happening behind that mask. As adults, we can understand the extra mile needed to show our expression now- even if we are feeling like we're playing charades. Remember our #dogs as we wear the mask on the beach, and give them some exaggerated attention. #frankleypetprovidore

I will always be in awe of the ocean, some say that it inspires creativity- and maybe that is partly where the idea of Frankley Pet Providore came from. This #ladystartup grew from wanting to find that something that would give me additional purpose in my life. I never thought that it would be starting a pet food business, but you tend to hone to what you love or appreciate most in life. ...For example, I love my dog Frankie and her health and wellbeing are paramount to me. Likewise, the ocean always held a special place in my heart and I sought to live next to it. You create something from the things you love and inspire you, which happen to be developing pet treats for me. I believe if you love what you do, and you believe in your creations, the returns will be never working a day in your life. Whilst a computer screen can be difficult sometimes, I love creating dog treats that bring joy to both the dog and the human. It is the small things that make you appreciate life. #frankley

01.01.2022 #LADYSTARTUP. When you start a small business there is so much uncertainty. You imagine the hard yards at the beginning and think, yep, I can do this! AND you can! But those long days of staring at a computer screen can make you feel isolated and alone. You can start to doubt yourself and your abilities. This is the time to take a step back and get some air. You need to regain the perspective of what you are doing and what is happening within the business- what are the main ...priorities? The only way to do this, is to rejig your system. One of my favourite quotes from #mamamia is #getshitdone, and I find that this really helps when you feel overwhelmed by all the little bits of things you need to do to get the business off the ground. I write lists, I categorise lists, and then I prioritise them. If I am still struggling, I get out the old pen and paper- and write down the three main things I need to do for the day. I feel better crossing them off when they are physically in front of me. Go into your tasks with a clear mind, do one thing at a time and one thing well. Overall, remember that your number one priority should be taking care of your mind. You cannot run a business with being able to breathe and think logically. Keep it healthy, go for a run, have a green smoothie, do some yoga or simply appreciate your surroundings. Then jump back into work feeling refreshed and revitalised. #frankleypetprovidore #frankley
