23.01.2022 Lining up two half day Somatic workshops at an amazing art-deco studio in downtown Tumut for a weekend in July. I reckon it would be more fun to stay over in a river cabin and space the workshops over two days. Anyone up for it??

21.01.2022 So good to be back on the appropriately distanced mat with a few dear students last night! This is what makes my life hum. Love sharing new movement insights and cues for investigation. #moreeaselesseffort #nextlevelawareness

20.01.2022 If you’re looking for more out of your yoga this is a fab chance to try before you commit to membership. I’ll be running women’s circles and offering a special blend of yoga and Somatics in a workshop in November. Shakti Yoga Temple is ready to enrich your life!

19.01.2022 Tonight we grounded and moved our energy around, found new range of movement through our necks, flipped our feet back and forwards and explored diagonal connection through the body. Thanks to my fearless students with open minds and hearts!

19.01.2022 Yoga and Somatics classes commence in the New Year in the first week of February. But I'm open for private assessments all through the break. Have a happy Holiday till then! xx

19.01.2022 "For many people, chronic muscle tension plays a large role in anxiety. It may not surprise you that psychological stress causes muscle tension, but it goes the other way as well: muscle tension causes psychological stress. This is good newsit means that by reducing your muscle tension, you can relieve your anxiety. For many people, reducing chronic muscle tension is a critical part in recovery from anxiety and related conditions."... I'm finding that reducing 'resting' muscle tension is sometimes as simple as finding a soft gaze, feeling gravity, sensing my support like feet and sitbones, and allowing my breath to reach beyond my imagined lungs. As a result my mind also softens and let's go the gripping. It works a treat vs 'trying to relax'.

17.01.2022 Cosy and supported after a class exploring gentle extension. We proved that deep back bends are in no way necessary to feel length in our spines and integrated movement in our backs. #AlexanderTechnique #Intelligentyoga #HannaSomatics #DNS

13.01.2022 Finally! Worked out how to edit my website since the Wordpress editor changed and I'd forgotten how to use Divi! So I added a free somatic yoga audio class on my Classes page. This week I hope to add a video class but baby steps :) https://freetomoveyoga.com/classes/

12.01.2022 A beautiful space for a sacred practice honouring Self @ Blue Bird Yoga Studio Tumut

11.01.2022 Dedicated our practice tonight to my beautiful Mum. We sent our oms to her spirit. Thank you all for your kindness.

10.01.2022 Term 3 begins this week! Yoga on Tuesday and Somatics on Thursday. Look forward to 8 weeks of exploring with you.

09.01.2022 Can’t wait to dive into this ebook by my favourite online yogi and source of inspiration; Dr Yogi Gare (Garrett Neill).

08.01.2022 We are back on the mat for Term One, 2020! Exploring, moving with intent and nurturing our bodies and minds. So grateful for my open-minded students who keep showing up for me and themselves. Yoga and Somatics is just one of the tools for change in our lives. But all the other tools are also part of our practice: : self-love, patience, definitely learning from mistakes, vulnerability and working through adversity sometimes too!

05.01.2022 I don’t know if I’m teaching a hybrid form of yoga and Somatics or not; I dont think the label matters much but the practice does. Classes start Tuesday 5th February. Register your interest now. Spaces are limited.

04.01.2022 Last ‘unplug’ for the term tomorrow evening. Somatics to allow your muscles to undo.

04.01.2022 Tonight we let our bones and gravity do most of the work. We noticed our breath, and how we could differentiate and discriminate within movement. Peter Blackaby’s book is helping us rethink our yoga with intelligence.

04.01.2022 One of the fab movements i learned in JEMS EASE this last 4 days. Joanne Elphinston is far and away the best movement facilitator I’ve ever experienced. I’m full of wonder and excitement to continue this work/play and share it with my students and beyond Thanks Tracy Lowe for being the person who recommended it so convincingly!

04.01.2022 Find your happy place... https://freetomoveyoga.com//the-year-that-the-world-stopp/

04.01.2022 So excited to be attending Shelly Fruends workshop this weekend in Albury! Can't wait to share the freedom to breathe on return.

02.01.2022 This is the wonderful heritage listed Learmont building in Tumut where I'll be running the workshops July 21st-22nd. Right next to the Montreal Theatre which I found out today was an anagram of Learmont. Come along to explore the delightful town, the beautiful river and do your body a big favour at the same time!

01.01.2022 Breathe out and come home. That was our final class for the term in a too warm room with fans going like crazy so we didn’t have to open the doors and let the smoke in! Thank you all who turned up and I hope you take the peace with you.
