It will forever be remembered as the day 173 people lost their lives and 78 communities across Victoria were devastated by the worst natural disaster in Australia's history. Black Saturday affected every Victorian in some way. Tragically, Victoria lost 173 lives that day. ... Lest we forget them and all those affected. Today, we remember all of those who died five years ago. We remember their families and loved ones and the many people who were injured. And we remember the communities who, in the face of incomprehensible loss, showed us the true meaning of the Australian spirit.

13.01.2022 EXTREME Fire Danger and Damaging Winds Saturday The South West and Central districts will have to contend with an EXTREME fire danger tomorrow coupled with dama...ging winds of around 60 km/h, gusting to 90 km/h, from early morning. Temperatures are not expected to drop significantly tonight, which means the fire danger will continue through the night. With the high winds coming in early, it will be important to remain vigilant. Monitor fire activity on www.cfa.vic.gov.au, ensure you have the FireReady app on your phone and call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line on 1800 240 667 if you see or smell smoke to establish the threat, if any, the fire poses at your location. Check www.bom.gov.au for when the damaging winds are expected at your location.
