21.01.2022 Dinner bookings update. Hi all. We’re sending a shout out to the folks who are still to book in for the Dinner and presentation on Saturday night. There have been a few communication issues around booking a table or seats at larger tables. We have a lovely lady has offered to take your dinner bookings and coordinate the tables by the name of Lesley. Please call Lesley after 6pm week days, or during the waking hours on weekends with your booking and to confirm your requir...ements . Lesley 0409 692 948 We apologise for issues some of you experienced but we feel this will streamline the process. The meals are first class, and we encourage you all to come and enjoy the meal, support the presentations, and listen to the man himself, Mr Bert Everingham talk about his family history, and his life building boats. This will be a great weekend made from everyone getting together to share and create new memories. Happy boating

20.01.2022 We’re sending out a call for volunteers to commit to assist in running the GIBSGO in December 2020. As you can appreciate it takes a lot of effort to put one of these events together. Many hands make light work, and so we can all enjoy this event, we need people to put their hands up and take on a job. It could be taking entries on the day, Manning the entry gate, Manning a rescue boat, Flag Marshall, scrutineering, there are too many tasks for the few.... Please get in touch with me to be part of this great event and see it’s return to Wagga. [email protected] Put in the subject line I’m a helper Thanks in advance we look forward to see you all in December Best in Boating

18.01.2022 Just a quick shout out. Part of the story behind the GIBSGO is to help bring together the best of classic boats in an on water spirited display. That’s how these boats should be seen. The other reason is to support a great little club with a big heart. Times have been very tough lately as with many small businesses around Australia. This event will lift spirits, and coffers of the club to enable it to survive. ... I encourage all entrants, supporters and visitors, to please book in for the Saturday night dinner and presentation by Mr Bert Everingham, to support this club and help the great committee get through the tough times. The meals are first class. The bar is fully stocked and the beer is cold. I think this is one of the best little clubs around. Please contact Crystal Restaurant directly with your booking and join the movement back to support these great people. Sincerely, Tony Murphy GIBSGO organiser

18.01.2022 What’s to eat? I’ve had a few enquires about the food in the upstairs restaurant for the Saturday night presentation dinner. Firstly let me say, the locals loooove this place. Crystal Restaurant was eagerly anticipated even before it opened its doors at the Wagga Boat Club. Having their first restaurant established just down the road a waze for many years, the quality of the food was well known. Since opening at the boat club the team have seen overwhelming bookings. So, without further ado, here’s the standard menu. The chef is also considering a roast or similar to cater for the more traditional eaters. We know you will love the food, the fully catered bar,and let’s not forget the presentation from the man himself, Mr Bert Everingham.

18.01.2022 The kettle’s on

18.01.2022 Quicky update on dinner bookings. We have had feedback from a few people that there is some difficulty in making the booking. We are making arrangements for a one person contact to take the dinner bookings and apologise for these difficulties. Once we iron out this hiccup I’m sure it will be smooth sailing, or boating so to speak.... This will be a one off opportunity to hear Mr Bert Everingham himself as our guest speaker. Bert will be talking about his family history, and of course, about building boats. It’s all about Blokes with Boats really. Can’t say it any other way, I will post shortly a dinner reservation number, and look forward to see you all on the night. Tony Murphy GIBSGO Event organiser

17.01.2022 Here’s a plug for the Early arrivals on the Friday 04dec to the club. We have entertainment in the form of a good old fashioned disco. So groovers, you can kick up your heels after a dusty drive, or chill on the grassed area out front with an ice cold beverage. Here’s a link to our DJ https://www.facebook.com/leighton.marshall.3

17.01.2022 Here’s some great photos taken on the day I can share through another FB page Enjoy

16.01.2022 Here’s our latest entry. Hell, this boat is one out of the box, unexpected but seriously welcome. Jessie II is a 9 m Tennessee riverboat, fitted out for family voyaging: four berths, decent galley, good fridge/freezer and a portapotty. It was built by Duck Flat (SA) in the late 1980s.... The hull design emanated from the USA prohibition years: when carrying illicit moonshine, the ultra-shallow draft could be used to head into waters where police couldn't follow. My hull needs 10 cm; the motor needs 30. See more

16.01.2022 Brett and the boys have just advised me they’re hooked up and heading South. No loose panels in this one I hope Brett lol

14.01.2022 I’m going out of my mind with the quality entries coming in. I’m a bit behind in posting them but here’s a taste. We are super excited to announce the attendance this year of Mark and Di Hammond, from well known and respected boat manufacturer, Hammond Boats. Quality hand built boats to stand the test of time.... Enjoy.

14.01.2022 Well that’s day 1 with a great turn out of some beautiful boats. We had them from as far as QLD and even Tasmania. Best wishes go out to Stuart who had some car trouble en route, then some boat trouble yesterday. That was a monumental effort Stuart and we all thank you for attending this year. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and speech from Mr Bert Everingham about his early family history, and boat building in the Hawkesbury River. Thankyou Bert. Here’s a couple of pics of t...he night. Enjoy

13.01.2022 Heads up. The GIBSGO team are looking at making our return to Lake Albert , Wagga, on the first weekend (5-6 Dec) in December 2020. We invite your feedback on this as it de conflicts with Narrandera.... We trust in making this (tentative ) move, we can include more enthusiasts to ensure Australias Great Inland Classic Boat Show and Go, becomes a regular feature in the Classic Boat calendar. The movement is growing and has an exciting future. I hope to get out to other events to say hi, and build what we've started. Till then, Best in boating

Some kicked on till late Sat night apparently. ... We hope and look forward to see you back at Wagga next year for a massive return in 2020. 03.01.2022 Hers an update on the weather. It’s currently blowing about 30+ km/hr from the west. Our area and opposite side fair pretty well with a westerly. It’s smooth enough to barefoot on the west side and a little choppy on the east side.
