15.01.2022 IS IT TIME TO BUY OIL AND GAS? Buoyed by rising prices these two sectors are creeping back into the conversation well, much more than they have in recent years but still not at the frenzied levels we have seen in the past. For the oil sector this is a chance to make things happen while there is cash around.... Glennon owns a small oil stock called Otto Energy (ASX: OEL) which we have written about previously. OEL updated its production and sales from the SM71 production well in the Gulf of Mexico during the week. In summary, its share of annual sales is more than $50m. Its market cap is just $129m. It is using the cash to further explore the areas surrounding SM71, drilling new acreage in Alaska near extremely successful and large production fields and has begun an extensive new drill program in the Gulf Coast in partnership US drilling giant, Hilcorp. The share price doesnt seem to be reflecting reality (even though we have already made good money out of it). READ MORE AT https://www.glennon.biz///21/IS-IT-TIME-TO-BUY-OIL-AND-GAS

13.01.2022 VGI has released a short-selling report on Corporate Travel. This is one of the first weve seen from an Australian-based hedge fund and its likely that these types of reports will increase. These will create some volatility but should provide opportunities for us to invest in companies we had previously considered to be too highly priced for our portfolios. Watch Michael Glennons video about this here -> https://youtu.be/Q9ttcFFss7A #VGI #Glennon #equities

09.01.2022 THE WEEK THAT WAS AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR INVESTORS Undoubtedly a tough week for markets, with US stocks suffering their worst loss in eight months and Australian markets following suit. Interestingly the sharp sell-off has come from concerns that in response to the US economy growing too fast a rapid deployment of interest rate increases will apply the brakes too hard. The knee-jerk reaction has been felt most hard at the highly-priced end of the market, amongst tech stocks, where multiples have become extreme. 08.01.2022 Investors in a public company have less information available to them than company insiders and far less than secured bank lenders, yet they take the greatest level of risk. Public company investors really get very little information, generally two sets of accounts each year (half yearly and full year accounts) which usually dont include anything qualitative (as its not a requirement). Therefore, other than looking at the numbers which can be difficult to analyse - you have no idea about what that business is doing. Michael Glennons previous experience as a lender in the banking sector means that he knows how to source the extra information that is not normally available to consumers.

03.01.2022 As many of you know, I was in the media at the beginning of the year speaking unfavourably about Bitcoin. As I said then, and I reiterate now, I would rather have my investments in the form of businesses that are growing or businesses that make real cash profits. Thats really our philosophy here at Glennon Capital and it has served me well since the start of my career back in the 90s. Soon after the Bitcoin article was published the cryptocurrency market imploded, with many ...crypto investors (especially those who invested in January) experiencing a portfolio decline of 70% or more. The more seasoned crypto investors, many of whom had experienced this type of volatlity before, stated that a rebound would occur within a few months but here we are, eight months on and still waiting for a significant upward movement. Although I remain committed to the statements I made in the Financial Review, I want to be clear that I am less pessimistic on blockchain technology, which has considerable potential. Indeed, the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) is looking at integrating distributed ledger technology (DLT) onto their platform. This will result in a reduction in the time, risk, cost and complexity of transactions. Its an interesting space, and one that I watch, but we plan on sticking with what we know well - which is under-researched small and micro-cap Australian stocks which we believe have a significant upside potential over time. If you want more info on Glennon Capital, please drop a comment below or email us. MG

02.01.2022 What do falling house prices mean for equity investors? Leading economists have all tipped that the housing markets in all major cities will fall. Despite years of low interest rates good for mortgage holders but not so good for retirees many people will find themselves in a home where not much equity is held. So why have house prices fallen and what lessons can be learned from this?... Read more here -> https://www.glennon.biz//What-do-falling-house-prices-mean
